Take the job offer?

Currently in a pickle. MOST LIKELY due to comfortability and feeling of betrayal.

Ive been working where I am for 3 years. Great people. I came in for accounting asst. Due to my work history I quickly went up. Whatever my boss threw my way I quickly learned it and owned it.

Whole office and I have bonded. We buy eachother lunch when the boss is out on Wednesdays. We'll make food and share. Birthdays and little celebration go noticed.

The boss has even given me a bowling ball. This place has given me so many opportunities to expand my knowledge.

I currently work about 3 minutes away from where I live now.

The new position would be 15 minutes.

Sound great why would you leave?!

Just like anyone else. I am feeling overwhelmed and underpaid.

I put in a resume for another asst. Role, Paying $2 more.

An ex coworker was the one who put that ad up.

He put in a good word , I did the interview and they really liked me. Checked off all, if not most of their check list.

I never heard back from them till the old co worker called and said they are butt hurt from me not reaching out.

If all goes well and I show why Im a good fit I can go up an extra $3. Total of a $5 raise.

My boss is really fond of me. Literally praises me for everything I do right. Good man. Its possible he may match but this is where the bertayal comes in. Hes done alot for me. Given me this opportunities to advance. Hes told me. Whatever you need to do your job. Ask and I wont deny it. Its a mix of all that and the bond we all have built that is making it hard to work. I understand im getting a form of graduation goggles. Literally the job is mine if I want it. Im a perfect fit the way I run things.

I am gonna talk to my boss on Monday on how far I can go w the company, physically and financially.

I just dont know how to say it without feeling like im in the wrong.

Can yall knock some sense into me? Lay out options I could possibly make.
