WIBTAH for choosing one son over the other?

I have two sons at two different schools (PreK and second grade). They aren’t close together. Both boys have an event next Friday at the same time. Due to summer planning and my mom having surgery earlier this year my PTO is very low.

With the lack of PTO, I haven’t been able to go to very many events for either boy.

I hate that my oldest understands I can’t make all the event. I wish I could be there for everyone one and not see the look of sadness on his face.

Youngest still believes my excuse on why I couldn’t make it. And isn’t sad.

I have a few family members here but I feel like I’m inconveniencing them with elementary events.

San Antonio tutor

My son is 7 yrs old (2nd grade) I’m having real trouble getting him to reading level. For example tonight’s home work was a short story with 7 words used about 15 times within the story. Examples: Flin, want, by, they, Blip, and. Each times he encounters the words he sounding them out like he’s never seen them before.

I know how my sons works, if I get irritated he shuts down. So I’m always encouraging and helping. But my inners are screaming.

Any advice on how to help him. What can I do to help him understand. Or any one looking to take on a new student to help him learn how to read?
