Many managers are piling 2-3 Palace assets into their WC35 or planning GW36 transfers around the double, and I think it's an obvious trap.
Glasner is gone after this season, and his only real motivation til the end is padding his CV with more silverware and bringing home the Conference League. The semi second leg is May 7th, sandwiched between Bournemouth (A) on the 3rd and Everton (H) on the 10th. Palace are 13th on 43 points, essentially safe from relegation, and nowhere near Europe via the league. There is genuinely nothing for them to play for in the PL, which could very likely mean heavy rotation and zero emphasis put on winning league games.
The DGW36 fixtures themselves are bad on their own merits, too. Everton is never an easy fixture and nowhere near a lock for a Palace clean sheet, and they're two points behind for a European football spot and will be pushing hard in the League. Man City are, of course, in a tense title race with Arsenal, level on points and goal difference. Pep will be pushing to pump up the score and keep clean sheets, so even if your popular Palace picks start both games, the avenue for points isn't obvious.
The fixtures after the double are less than desirable as well. Brentford (A) on the 17th, who are also in the mix for a European spot, then Arsenal (H) on the 24th. Many will be looking to move on from Palace anyway after the double, so you’d be bringing them in for one usable gameweek.
I think the safer and more sensible play is loading up on Leeds or especially Brighton instead. Leeds vs Burnley at home in GW35 is the single best fixture in the league. Brighton gets Wolves at home in GW36 and is also pushing to secure European football. Both teams are playing extremely high-level football currently and have a plethora of strong picks in defense, midfield, and attack.
If you're going for a Palace player, it's Munoz at most for me. I think going 2 or 3 deep could very likely turn out to be a disaster, and could be how many throw away their mini-league late season.
