Alastor Moody

I don’t know why I never questioned this before but I suddenly had this thought.

We learn in book/move 2 that bones can grow back with Skele-Gro so why does Moody have a wooden leg?.

If you can regrow bones in the wizarding world, surely they can grow new skin, muscles, etc., etc., with the Skele-Gro, thus wizards don’t need to be amputees.

ETA: sorry everyone who's commented so far after I read them I remembed all those points….. This is what happened when you can’t sleep, are very tired and have a sudden thought.

Public Bathrooms

For as long as I can remember I hate/refuse to use any bathroom that wasn’t mine. During school, uni and now work I go just before leaving and then hold everything until I get home. I can easily hold for 12-plus hours if necessary. The only time it changes is when I'm on holidays, and even then I only use the bathroom in the hotel room I’m staying in.

Anyone else like this?.

ETA: I’m a 32yr old female. This isn’t a germ thing or worried about catching anything I just can’t stand the thought of using any bathroom unless it's mine. I drink a minimum of 2L of water a day it's usually 3-4L. My kidneys are fine. I’ve actually never had a UTI. The people who comment on what happens if I get food poisoning or diarrhoea. I’m lucky I haven’t had food poisoning if I ever got it I would call in sick and just stay home and while I’ve had gastro a few times for the person who commented on gastro not being contagious gastro is extremely contagious so you definitely should be staying home if you have gastro. The few coworkers of mine that know we joke how I chose the perfect career for this. When I’m on my period I will go into the disabled toilet just to change my pad. Finally for those that thing this is fake or a fetish. This is real I don’t care if you think this is fake and as for it being some kind of fetish I don’t know how that could be so gross. I was simply just curious whether anyone else was the same as I do know it's strange but it is what it is.

Sidney

The quote Sidney said in an earlier season “Ladies and gentlemen take my advice: take off, take off your pants and slide on the ice” he then says it again in Goodbye, Farewell, and Amen, and I’ve even read Alan Alda posted it after the actor's death.

Despite having watched the series countless times I’ve never understood it. When he first says it in season 3 I just assumed it was a funny random quote but then he said it again in the finale and Alan Alda posted about it after the Actor who played Sidney passed away.

So is it just some random funny quote fans liked so they used it again in the final or does it have some kind of meaning?.

Snape - Always

I was 14 when Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book came out and read it in one go. The Snape reveal was a huge shock when I read it and at the time I thought it was the most romantic thing. A person loving someone so much they changed sides, worked as a double agent to protect her son etc etc. Then when part 2 of the movie came out, Snape's memory scene was my favourite part of the movie.

I even had both a t-shirt and hoodie that said After all this time Always with a doe on it that I wore as often as I could.

By my mid 20’s is when I started to realise it wasn't some great romantic story and came to realise how creepy it actually was. A grown man mourning and being so in love with someone who was your best friend until he called her a horrific slur, pining for her for the feast of his life even when he became an official Death Eater and agreed with the whole pure blood ideology.

Then after overhearing part of the prophecy and running off to tell it to Voldemort and after finding out Voldemort chooses it to mean Lily’s son he begs Voldemort to just kill her son a literal baby and spare her. Like WTF it's so messed up. Did anyone else think the same initially then realise once they were an adult how messed up it was?

Goodbye, farewell & amen - Klinger

I’ve just finished my umpteenth rewatch. I’ve loved M*A*S*H since I was a kid in the early 2000s. It was one of my grandfather's favourite shows, and he introduced me to it when I was a kid.

Just finished goodbye farewell & amen and one of my all time favourite scenes of the entire series is when Klinger announces he’s staying in Korea and everyone's hysterical laughter to it and Hawkeye saying you don’t have to act crazy now we're all getting out and it got me thinking did any of you guys on this subreddit watch the final when it aired and what was every ones reaction after it aired?.

Obviously it was well before the internet, social media etc but it holds the record for most watch tv finale and I’m sure lots of people would have reacted and talked about it at the time so I’m curious how people reacted as its just too funny a guy who spent years wearing dresses and performing many hilarious stunts to get a section 8 ends up staying after falling in love.

What is a still, and what does it do?

Hello,

Long-time M*A*S*H fan here even though I’m only 32 but I used to watch it with my granddad.

anyway I’ve never gotten into alcohol purely because I just don’t like the taste and gave up trying to find one I liked when I was around 19 so can someone explain it to me like I’m five because I couldn’t find out when I googled it.

Currently doing a rewatch and realised

Currently doing a rewatch I’m about halfway through season 1 and noticed Flynn takes way more than 3 people in the mother ship yet in season 2 Jiya and Rufus spent months working to figure out how to add a 4th passenger to the lifeboat so how was Flynn able to jump with so many people
Edited to add
Just got to the season 2 episodede where agent Christopher finds out about Jiya has been having seizures since the season 1 final where Jiya had to go with the trio as the building was about to be raided and after agent Christopher arranges a Dr Mason told her how bad it is because when they were building the time machines when they attempted to add a 4th person 2 people ended up in perment mental health facilities so if Mason didn't know about/how to add more passengers are we to believe Anthony figured it out didn't tell anyone and secretly added that ability to the Mothership with out anyone noticing.
