I get that ads are a part of life, but really Bloomington? Do we have to have MULTIPLE ads around the tiny roundabouts on Winslow? They are obnoxious. They aren't even small Adopt a Roundabout signs - they are big for that tiny roundabout at High and Winslow. And the ones at Sare and Winslow are also annoying. If there was just one - fine. Wouldn't like it, but fine. But multiple?

Small thing in the grand scheme of things, but they are really ugly.

Hi all,
I'm fostering from a shelter - first time doing this, but not a stranger to dogs. This guy has zero commands and is 2 years old. How many commands would you work on at a time? He definitely needs "watch me" and I'd love to get him to do "side" and "heel" so that he will quite crossing in front of me on walks (he is going to trip someone and get them and himself hurt doing that).

He has VERY low food motivation. I've tried SO MANY foods!! He's a good boy - just has some learning needs. And do you think working on more than one command at a time is a bad idea?

If I don't have all of my colleges in my list finalized yet, but I need to apply to some schools early because of fee waivers for certain times of the year, how does that work with my LORs? After they submit their forms for one school, can I assign them more schools later and it will still be okay?

As I'm learning about this condition, it seems like it encompasses two different things: tendon/soft tissue under ball of foot vs the sesamoid bones themselves. Am I correct in thinking that?

If so - when I'm reading about sesamoiditis - does it make sense to think that maybe different approaches to healing are needed for the specific injury? And if so - does anyone have an idea of what is best for each type of injury?

Acute injury in which I had too much body weight on my big toe. Happened a couple of months ago. Did rest and ice early - but pain wouldn't go away. Had x-rays a couple of weeks in. No fracture. Was placed in post-op rocker off-loading shoe. That does seem to help, but not completely.

Saw podiatrist today - I was told this is just going to take time. Okay to stay in post-op shoe. Come back in a few months if things still aren't better. Offered PT with ultrasound.

Questions:

1. Is staying in the post-op off-loading shoe a bad idea? Brooks shoes with my orthodics in are not comfortable (which normally are very comfortable).
2. Is doing the PT with ultrasound going to help at all? Podiatrist did not think it would help much if at all.
3. Any tips anyone wants to send my way? I'm so frustrated to have to stay off of my foot as much as possible.

Has anyone completely recovered from this with conservative measures?

I'm already at liquid stage with just the magnesium citrate. How am I going to possibly need TWO doses of Miralax.

Did anyone else have a prep like this?

Orange tabby, 12 y/o, male, neutered, 16 pounds

Using Solensia for arthritis - nothing else works.
He has a reaction to Solensia that causes him to scratch at his face and neck until he has wounds.
Dermatologist and regular vet have worked out a plan to have him continue on Solensia while using dexamethasone to counteract the initial reaction he has after each injection.

Taking 0.5 mg daily (zero point 5 - not 5.0).

Plan right now is to take 0.5 starting on the day of injection and continue daily dose for a week afterward, then taper.

My questions:

1. has anyone had success doing this is a cat with a Solensia reaction?
2. Is it realistic to think that maybe we could taper to every other day the second week of the month and then have him off the dexamethasone the rest of the month? I'd like to give his body a break, but also don't know if the back and forth of going on and off each month would be bad for him.

When making the initial payment, it directs to the insurance companies website. I did not get a receipt for payment - just something showing I'm enrolled in autopay. Is that correct? Does it take a few days for the insurance company to start my account and then initiate payment or am I going to get something saying "Well, you didn't do the initial payment."
