By the request of Armoured, I’m doing the session summary this time. (Sorry if it’s late.)

Previously, the party hopped down a portal to escape the mob. They end up getting sent to a Cyan concert, nearly landing on top of her. The party begins bickering, beating Robin Rogue for putting a bounty on himself. They quickly realise where they are and awkwardly leave before security came, though not before some of them got Cyan’s autograph on the spot.

When they head outside, they see a short girl savitaging the concert by destroying the venue’s power box. As she rants about how Cyan stole her fans, she sees the party and gets punted to a tree by Robin. Red dots then cover them yet again, and snipers bein shooting at them. As Haven shields the others, Domain creates some portals to throw swords at 6 of the snipers she spotted. They quickly make their way to the nearest man hole and enter the sewers, sealing the cover with vines by Garden Knight.

They start bickering again, trying to figure out where to go now. That is until they hear a loud clanging noise. Robin and GK split off to investigate. They end up hearing smaller clanging noises approaching them and hide. Meanwhile, Domain and Haven fight a straight up shark in the sewers, and somehow it’s putting up an excellent fight, spitting back out the swords Domain throws it and even using it with its mouth. As the other two hide, GK begins getting sucked into the wall. Robin tries to help, but a random leg kicks him. In retaliation, he stabs it, but it turns out to be GK’s leg, which is somehow on top of him. Robin pulls GK out and proceeds to dive inti the wall. A grappling hook pulls him out, and an energy blast destroys the wall, but it only reveals solid concrete. A man in black metal almost robotic-like armor appears to check on them. GK needs to get his leg bandaged m, and Robin is now as ditty as a drunk person after coming out of that wall. This state oddly makes Eivin more heroic and goes to rescue the others after hearing they’re in trouble.

Domain and Haven continue to fight the shark, who’s as acrobatic as a dolphin. Domain summons an explosive, and Haven traps the shark with its mouth in the air in a force field. It explodes m, but the shark survives and flees. The others arrive, and the man introduces himself as D, who’s come to find them. They’re skeptical at first, but feel they can trust him. The shark then tries coming back with a bow and arrow, but D scares it off, and they go.

Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah

Now, I don’t think it’s wrong to ship this. Everyone has their preferences. However, if we were to analyse it from a character writing perspective, it’s a terrible ship even among other crack ships.

The root of their problem is indeed the death of Moon. She wasn’t just some celebrity crush Lin Ling had. She was his entire world and his inspiration to be a hero. Losing her meant that he also not only lost his crush, he lost his friend and the sole reason for why he fights. That’s something absolutely unforgivable. What’s worse is the one that took her in the first place, E-Soul, went through nearly the exact same thing, except it was frankly his own fault. Unlike LL, YC didn’t want to break free from the system’s shackles, and because of that, he was easily manipulated to kill his hero and push away the people that cared about him. That’s why they’re antithesis to each other, but that doesn’t mean it’s “opposites attract.”

It’s seemingly being inevitable that in one of their encounters with each other, these two could have an encounter where they’re forced to work together. Due to LL likely still retaining his sense of justice, he might be willing to work with him, but he’ll never forgive E-Soul. As for what E-Soul thinks, well, we don’t really know. He could either accept it or not care at all. It’s now a mystery of how he truly thinks.

Fascinatingly, CommonCoal is actually a fitting name to describe their relationship. Coal negatively symbolises staining whatever it touches, destruction, and corruption, which fits at how their relationship is stained after E-Soul killed Moon due to him being corrupted by Rock and the system.

TLDR: LL will never forgive E-Soul for killing Moon, and E-Soul might not give a crap about it. Thus, the ship will never work.

(PS: This was gonna be a comment on Smug Cat’s earlier post of CommonSoul, but it would’ve been too huge. Plus, I’ve been wanting to do a post like this for a long time.)
