The dinner scene in S308 is one I’ve rewatched the most, and it might offer a subtle hint regarding Stensen’s ultimate goal for the Silo project, or at least its origins (something to do with genetics?? idk).

Victor’s immediate reaction is also interesting, he displays an emotion bordering on empathy. This is understandable, given that he is a man unable to bear his own pain who decided humanity would be better off forgetting the past. After all, grand ambitions often stem from selfish desires, and a personal wound can become the foundation of an ideology.

I always enjoy delving into the psychology of villains in truly outstanding shows. My theory is that we will witness the entire timeline of past events, but from the perspective of the founders, seeing their rise and fall within a single season.

Silo season 3 episode 5 is currently one of the highest-rated episodes of the entire series on IMDb with a rating of 8.7

And based on reviews from critics who have watched all 10 episodes, the second half of S3 is going to be insane, I can't wait 😆🔥

This isn't a plot hole.

At first, I was wondering the same thing as a lot of other people, how these two even knew about something called a "bird" ??? until I remembered that Billings gave Kennedy the photos from the relic book back in S2 Episode 4 (or was it Episode 5?).

As someone who's read all three books, I can confidently say this show is incredibly well-structured, with foreshadowing scattered all over this season. There's no way they'd overlook a plot hole this big.

Besides, the final season has already been filmed, and considering that 99.9% of sci-fi TV shows these days either never get a proper ending or end up getting canceled, it's honestly a blessing to be a Silo fan LOL Hugh Howey must feel incredibly lucky.

The short film "Debut" will be a real test for this fan community

Happy belated 1 year anniversary to Kpop Demon Hunters!

Like many others here, I've become emotionally attached to this movie and community. As someone who's been involved in numerous fandoms over the years, you guys are truly a gem (of course, nothing is perfect lol).

However, part of me feels that many people in the fandom have become so attached to their own theories, headcanon, and lore that some parts of the film have become alien to them. Those unrealistic expectations, once not met, can lead to extreme disappointment and bitterness towards something they once loved so much. With the leaks surrounding the "Debut" short film, I just hope things don't go too far.

Personally, I don't think Netflix or Sony would cancel the short. It was reportedly completed at least two years ago, and with animation projects taking so long to produce, Debut is currently one of their best ways to keep fans engaged while new content is still in development.

It would also create a poor impression, considering the filmmakers behind Debut were given this opportunity through Sony's LENS (Leading and Empowering New Storytellers) program, which supports underrepresented talent in animation. I also can't see Maggie and Chris supporting that decision. Since the short already has an MPA rating, I think they're simply waiting for the right time to release it.

Hey everyone, picking up from my last post: https://www.reddit.com/r/KpopDemonhunters/comments/1sptlhj/does_anyone_else_want_korean_shamanism_to_be/ I wanted to keep going with my theory on where KPDH 2 might be headed next.

(Quick disclaimer: I’m not Korean and I’ve only recently started learning about Shamanism, so I might get some details wrong. Feel free to correct me if I do)

We already know that the girls are essentially modern-day Mudangs. KPDH certainly has its own innovations, but the core spirit of shamanism remains the same.

The whole WISL scene feels like a modern, simplified version of Dodang-gut (도당굿), or a “community ritual.” Its main purpose is protecting people from evil and disease, and what really defines it is how there’s no clear line between audience and participant. Everyone is involved which lines up perfectly with how Gwi Ma gets taken down by both the fans and Huntrix working together.

But what about the people whose souls were taken? (Here I will assume that after Gwi Ma is defeated, the souls he absorbed will be released)

That’s where Ssikkim-gut (씻김굿), the soul-cleansing ritual, comes in. It’s meant to cleanse and release souls, especially those who died suddenly or with unresolved attachments. The ritual basically guides a soul from a “contaminated” state (full of pain, resentment, unfinished business) to a purified one, ready to move on. The shaman acts as the bridge the whole time, summoning, interpreting, and ultimately guiding the soul.

In a broader sense, Ssikkim-gut isn’t just about the dead, it also helps the living process grief, turning it into acceptance and restoring a sense of balance, while making sure the soul doesn’t stay stuck between worlds.

I’m pretty confident the next part will lean into themes like grief—along with things like hatred, regret, and learning how to let go. It’s also the most natural way to expand the story: digging into what happened to Rumi’s parents, letting Celine, Zoey, and Mira face their own issues, and finally addressing whatever happened to Jinu’s soul.

More importantly, it would force the girls to confront the consequences of neglecting their duties, basically the butterfly effect of everything that went wrong and the lives lost because of it.

Anyway, that’s my theory. I know this kind of topic is pretty niche, but I can’t help myself. As long as at least one person here finds it interesting, I’ll keep posting stuff like this :)))

"....Everyone has some kind of duality:

  • Rumi is half-hunter half-demon
  • Jinu lived a past life in the Joseon period and a new one as a demon into the modern day, while his memories were retained. (+ if he returns in some form in a sequel while continuing to retain his memories, same deal, just starting another new life)
  • Zoey is Korean American
  • Mira was raised in a traditional family but broke that mold

which gives everyone the potential to be a bridge:

  • Rumi bridging between human and supernatural life/realms
  • Jinu bridging between past and future, old and new life/times
  • Zoey bridging between different cultures (western and eastern, and of course there are cultures outside this split but that's what my girl is working with)
  • Mira bridging between traditional and new values

one way to look at this:

  • Rumi and Jinu together bridge different worlds in a spiritual sense
  • Zoey and Mira together bridge different worlds non-spiritual sense

a parallel among them if you really squint:

  • Rumi and Zoey both bridge across space (places.. realms.. locations.. type beat)
  • Jinu and Mira both bridge across times (with Jinu it's obvious, with Mira tradition relates to the past and novelty relates to change and the future)

The spacetime continuum of Jinutrix. Or: everyone's a bridge. That's it that's the theory

oh yeah if we pair them up in the remaining possible way:

  • Rumi and Mira together represent balancing traditional and new hunter duties as the relationship with demons changes
  • Jinu and Zoey together represent connecting people across geography and history (ok this is just restates what they individually represent but my ocd brain wants to complete the symmetry)

My strong feeling of the general arcs these guys will have in the sequel or other future stories: Each character will learn how to be the bridge they're supposed to represent

Huntrix's whole thing is connecting people but cultural/value differences can make this challenging. As Zoey and Mira learn how to deal with these challenges on a personal level, they strengthen the Honmoon too.

Zoey still deals with the insecurity of being neither Korean enough nor American enough and will learn to fully connect the two cultures she straddles rather than just play one side or the other. Y'know because the Honmoon will depend on it somehow.

Mira would continue to learn how to build/unburn bridges with people, and maybe she'll need to do this with a family member assuming at least one relationship is salvageable. ... Y'know because the Honmoon will depend on it somehow. Or she could be the linchpin in a reconciling a growing divide between Huntrix and Celine

I believe the hunters' whole thing should be to connect not just people, but all beings with souls. And they've recently learned it's possible for at least some demons to have souls.

Enter Rumi learning how to unite/protect human life and supernatural life for the good of both. She'll need the help of Jinu, the said demon with a recovered soul, who previously stepped up one (1) time to save her and throw a wrench in his own world-ending scheme, and who now needs to learn to actually step into a guardian role.

While Jinu made past mistakes that hurt his original family and helped Gwi-Ma, he has a second chance to keep helping Huntrix, using the special fact that he's a soul with memories that span across centuries. (Memories no longer manipulated by Gwi-Ma's voices!). He is their link to the past beyond Celine and recent hunter generations. And potentially he's their link to the afterlife if they ever need to talk to (other?) souls who passed on there. And of course he can help them learn Demon 101 (again, going beyond what Celine and recent hunter generations know).

And Rujinu will soulmate so hard that together they restore spiritual balance to life, death, and reality itself. Nothing big really"
