N54 won't stop shredding serpentine belts... Losing my mind

Hey all,

I'm posting here because I'm clueless on why my 2010 e92 335xi keeps shredding serpentine belts. Within a month, I had two belts shred. I figured there had to be more to the story so I bought a laser tool to check pulley alignent and replaced the oil filter housing gasket. This is the first startup after replacing the OFHG and installing a new belt. I wasn't expecting it to shred so quickly, obviously.

All pulleys seem solid. I spun them, checked for any that were loose, but they seem fine. There was a bit of grime around the OFHG indicating a very minor leak, but all three shredded belts don't seem to have any oil on them.

Engine mounts are also a common cause of this issue, and it's so difficult to see them without ripping half the front end apart, but I doub't they're the issue. They do have 160k miles on them, but from what I can see, they're not entirely obliterated, and I doubt it would cause a brand new belt to shred like this at idle after just a minute of running.

Anyone else have a similar nightmare story? I cannot seem to figure this one out. Any help would be much appreciated!

Where can I find an affordable crank pulley?

Hey all,

I have a 2010 e92 335xi (n54 engine) and am trying to find an affordable crank pulley / harmonic balancer. I removed mine after my serpentine belt shredded to inspect the crank seal. However, like an idiot, I used a Pry bar to remove it before finding out that's not at all how you're supposed to remove them. It did come out quite easily with the pry bar, which surprises me a bit now.

I figured I was just going to buy a new crank pulley because mine looks a little rough and removed it incorrectly. I went to go buy a new one and found an OEM replacement is $700+! Does anyone have any recommendations for an aftermarket crank pulley? The part number is 11227558083.

Thanks for any help!
