How do you add a gif on top of a still image?

I'm working on a comic right now and I wanted to explore how I can import gifs into my comics for more of a dramatic read. I've tried to look it up online but I couldn't find any tutorials. Does anyone know of its possible and how to do it?

I use a windows PC and I have CSP 5.0 Pro.

How long are you willing to wait for a new chapter to come out?

I mainly ask because I think it's INSANE how some creators can make something in a week and make their deadline. I've seen people who get exhausted from a schedule like that ESPECIALLY if they're a one person team. So this got me thinking...

If you knew an indi creator is a one person team (writing, drawing, coloring, ect.) and the story is REALLY GOOD, how long would you legitimately wait for before your like "Yeah they're never coming back to finish." :(

I know for One Punch man, chapters slowed down to 1ish chapters every few months but it was because they were covering an insane arch and Merada was putting in some incredible work for the art. But would you wait that long?

Any advice for people who are awkward at meeting new people?

I mainly ask because my friend has been single for as long as I remember and he's super awkward. He says he's not that good looking (but I don't think think so but I'm a dude so I'm not sure) and we had a conversation with him the other day and he mentioned how it's hard to meet someone in your 20s nowadays (he's 25). I told him it's probably a confidence issue but he did mention he didn't know where to start since he has had no luck with dating apps. Any advice on how he can meet new people?

What is the best way for new creators to spread awareness of your comic?

So I want to make a comic and I'm going to be COMPLETELY HONEST, I don't care about popularity or monitozation.

The reason I ask is because I made a promise to a friend that I would make a comic and publish it one day. It's been a passion project of ours and I just want to know how to spread the word on the comic.

If the comic flops, I would take it as a learning opportunity and move on. I just want to know the best way to spread awareness for more people to know about it and read it.

Can you save models that have objects attached to them?

I've been messing with blender lately and finally managed to figure out how to make my own props. The issue now is that I'm currently working on a character and they have an attachment that is always on them (like cyborg attachments or a head/eye attachment like General Kregg from Invincible.) I figured out how to attach the said item but I wanted to know if I can register the entire character into my CSP 3D folders (character and attachments bundled into one folder).

I know you can copy layers but I don't want to clutter my project space with 3D models with attachments for further use. Does anyone know how to save this?

I am using CSP Pro v 5 (the latest one) on a desktop and use a Wacom.

I mainly ask because I have experience using Blender and would like to know if it's possible to make 3D assets to sell on there. I'm still relatively new to all this so I'm hoping to learn more about how the store works and what is needed to get started.

What do you guys use and do to prepare an asset for either your own personal use or to list on there?

Can you make actual money, or is it only gold/clippy as currency so that you can purchase other items on there? (I personally don't have a problem with since I've been eyeballing a few brushes and tools on their store).

What is best practice for getting started with making your own digital asset store?

I mainly ask because I have experience using Blender and just learned how to import 3D objects into my scene and it's been AMAZING! I make it a habit to make my own props and furniture as references but something occurred to me. How do you draw on newly imported 3D objects?

I mainly ask because I know you can do this with the base model human mannequin to draw tattoos and stuff but wasn't sure if CSP has something similar for custom imported object. (For example making a park bench that reads A+B with a heart around it or a custom design for a sword like a dragon on a blade or something).

If not, I have a follow-up up to this question. Can you import 3D objects with textures? I've imported my 3D objects and they usually come in white. Is there a way to import them with a custom texture to make my life easier (For example bring in a greed chair or making my own skin design like a dragon on a sword that shows on the 3D model). Thank you!

Edit: I have a perpetual license version 5 EX

I'm talking about something that you picked up that just got released and NO ONE is talking about it.

For me it was Maru is a Puppy when it first launched. I thought it was hilarious after the first few episodes and I tied to recommend it to friends. Now it's doing really good but when I first started reading it, barely anyone had read it.

That had me thinking... What makes you want to read a webcomic from a new creator?

I know everyone has different tastes but I just want to know what compels you to try it out for yourself? I really want to know, because for me it was if it seemed funny or it had an interesting premise in the bio. Curious on what makes you want to try something new out.

So I recently saw a IG post about how people were upset about how Kirkman responded to a question about power scaling and his entire explanation to it was basically "Whoever wants it more will probably be the one who wins". Like I can understand why people are upset, but at the same time he's right.

The reason is because everyone keeps forgetting a few important things:

  1. Every hero story (especially power based stories) are underdog stories. The reason why the villains are so strong is because we're rooting for the MC to somehow come out on top. If every author focused too much on power scaling we would essentially get 1000 copies of Solo Leveling. Every hero knows their outmatched but the reason why they continue isn't because "I'm stronger than them, I got this!" It's literally because if they fail everyone they know and love will literally die if they don't give everything they got.
  2. Great examples include DBZ in the Frieza saga. Yeah when everyone started to get dogged on by the ginyu force, Goku shows up and he's stronger than anybody and solos almost all of them. But here's the thing. He's almost taken out by Captain Ginyu, not because Ginyu was stronger, but because Ginyu was straight up like "Shit he's stronger than me, lemme take that body" and soul swaps with him because he wanted that win more. Only reason he lost was because he got too cocky and switched bodies with a frog.
  3. Continuing with this example: when Goku fought Frieza, Frieza was literally holding back and when he got to his final form he started to dog the shit out of everyone. Even when the spirit bomb went off and they thought they got him, Frieza literally pulls up and blows up Krillin. The reason why Goku turned super Saiyan wasn't because he was pushing beyond his limits, or wanted to get stronger. He was mad because he saw his best friend die and knew he wasn't able to wish him back. That upset him because he failed to save his friends and he knows if he can't do anything else, his son, Piccolo, and everyone on earth would die if he didn't continue to fight. That's why transformations became such a massive trope because it was the MC realizing that all the weight was left on them and if they lost, they would lose everything.
  4. Even removing power scaling from the equation: A great example of who wanted to win more was Itadori in JJK. Mahito made him question his own morals, kept clowning on him the entire fight, and the moment that arguably breaks Yuji is when Mahito slaps Nobara with his curse technique. Rather than cry and say "Yuji save me" she knew she was going to die. So she smiled, and straight up told that man to live his best life before blowing up in his face. It works because Yuji has seen so many close people in his life die because of his own failure to save them that he goes through a metaphorical transformation, literally telling Mahito "Yeah, I might be a hypocrite but I'm still going to kill evil spirits like you." This literally shakes Mahito to his core and he's finally scared of Yuji because he knows Yuji's mentally shift and wasn't going to win against someone who had nothing left to lose.
  5. The list still continues on with even more anime examples and comics, but the point is that a power scaling system doesn't really matter. Power scaling matters because A. It shows character growth and serves as a reminder that there will always be someone stronger than them (hence Goku always trains) and B. To demonstrate the new threat beyond the horizon that forces the hero to realize that either they can't handle it all alone or they need to change tactics to win. Mark has two examples of this:

A. The most notable and recent one was with conquest. Dude choked him to death because he know if he let go, the people he loves will die and him getting his guts ripped out would be for nothing.

B. In the comics, he had to grab Thragg and fling both of them into the sun because Mark knew deep down he probably can't win a 1v1 against him. But his whole mentality in that moment was literally just, if I have to go down to beat him then that's what it's going to take. (Baki literally follows a similar philosophy with his fight with Muhammad Ali Jr).

Power scaling is fun to talk about, even with death battles, but in terms of plot, it always comes down to who ever wants it more. You don't need to be a hero to understand that and invincible's biggest plotline was Mark realizing he's not a hero because of this reason. He's willing to die in battle not because he needs to save earth but because he wants to save his family and loved ones. That's it, I might get hate for this but that's my honest thoughts on the issue.

I ask because I'm hoping to start a webtoon in the future. I'm still learning to draw but I'm having a blast as I go along.

I bring this up because I've seen a lot of people asking for advice about "How do I make my comic BLOW UP!" And I just feel like that's a wrong mentality to have when publishing. I'm honestly hoping just to share my story with people but it would be nice to know how to get more people interested in reading my comic.

I've always wanted people to see my work so it would be nice to know what challenges I might face and the best ways to approach things as a new creator. I would also like to hear from the avid comic reader their thoughts on their favorite comic and what made them start reading it. Thanks for reading!

PLEASE READ BEFORE COMMENTING: Before starting your recommendations, please don't mention ONES work. Nothing against the manga writer/artist I am already aware of his work (Mob Psycho 100 and One Punch Man) even his other series about the 100 heros. I love all of them BUT I see him as the go to as an example A LOT! I've already read most of his works and I'm looking for more obscure works. I say this with all due respect and I hope you understand.

I am aspiring to publish my first comic BUT I'm not the most confident with my art. I've been practicing for a little while, but I keep getting too into my head about finally posting something.

I want recommendations of webcomics that in your opinion have HORRIBLE art but have AMAZING stories. Doesn't matter if it's serious, funny, hell, even if it's your OWN webtoon! I want to look for something new that fits this description. I know I shouldn't be searching for inspiration, but the honest truth is that I don't want to feel alone in this endeavor and want to see if anyone shares this sentiment.
