First marathon on Saturday
I guess I’m just looking for words of encouragement. This is my first marathon after spending the last 15 years or so doing short distances (10 miles and under).
My training started really strong in January but I live on the east coast of Canada and running outside was frankly dangerous at some points in the winter. Mountains of snow, extremely icy roads, high winds. All that to say that my training was definitely not perfect…but here we are.
More than anything I’m scared I’m going to give up and bail. Conditions are not at all ideal (as of right now) and I know around km 30 itll turn into a mental game.
I’ll take any words of encouragement ya got! Hopefully, this time in 40 hours I’ll be sipping a beer and eating pizza, and not trying to get a hold of my emergency contacts 😬
Wish me luck!
