Sweater for Alexi

So, I recently got my first Maplelea doll, Alexi. I felt like I needed to make her something to welcome her to my collection, and it just so happens when I buy multi-packs of yarn, I don't use a lot of orange. As I was looking for a color to pair with my orange, and debating what to make, I found an unused skein that I'd gotten as a gift and never knew what to do with. Well, I went for it, changed my plan, and am debating my next steps. What do we think? Do you think Alexi would wear this? Does it need sleeves or is it good as is? Or maybe a matching hat?

Kirsten's Day Out!

I took my girls to Old World Wisconsin with a friend, and we brought along Kirsten! Although I had a hard time getting her away from the kids for long, I tried to get a few fun pics. Also, my girls and I were matching.

I kind of want to continue doing outings with some of my other dolls. Although I got this Kirsten 2nd hand so I'm not as cautious as I am with my new/like new dolls, so we'll see who I'm willing to brave bringing on am outing.

Made my daughter's Bitty Baby a Princess Peach dress

I was pretty proud and wanted to show it off. My daughter (4) saw the Super Mario movies a few weeks ago and has been minorly obsessed with Peach and Rosalina, instead of buying one I decided to try my hand at making one. I modified a different dress pattern for the basic bodicr and skirt and kinda winged it for the sleeves and adornments. Ruby (the doll) has been wearing it since. It's crocheted.

The costume is finished!

I shared my in-progress picture when I got the first part done. It was a regular bear pattern for an 18-inch doll so I had to make some adjustments then added all the extra details. The pokemon it is meant to be are the final 2 images.

Why did I decide to make this costume? Found a pattern. Decided to wing it. Here we are. Finished the last piece at 1:30 am. Woot!

Full Body Vinyl?

Hello, I'm just looking for opinions here. Occasionally I see lovely babies for a really reasonable price, but I'm hesitant to buy because they are full body vinyl babies. They would be great for pictures, but I'm worried I won't bond because they won't be as cuddly. Obviously they won't be as cuddly anyway as a cuddle baby or 1/4 limb baby (what I currently have), but do people who have them still feel like they are nice to hold? Especially if they are weighted? I'm worried they will just feel like my kids' cheap plastic babies when I hold them, but I'm not sure if the weight will help offset that.

Does anyone have a full body vinyl that they do still love to hold? Have you gotten one and decided it just wasn't for you? What are your experiences with it? I know everyone is different, but I want to hear how other people feel about them. Thanks in advance.

Pokemon Outfit

Well, I had a borrowed book that had a crochet bear outfit for dolls. 18 inch dolls. So, I tried to make it bigger. And I didn't care about it being a bear so much...I wanted it more unique. So it's a bear pokemon, Ursaring. The ears don't look right, BUT I also have more plans for it, so I'll table fixing them for now.

Awesome Gift from a Friend

My friend just gifted my girls and me a huge haul of her old stuff. She had Pleasant Company Felicity and Kit and a few additional historical outfits and accessories each (I didn't quite get through sorting/identifying everything) plus a bunch of handmade items, modern AG accessories, and a handmade wooden bunk bed from her grandpa. She already gifted me all of Felicity's original books. My girls are so excited, though a bit young. I want to organize everything by set, but my kids don't care, lol. I feel a little bad because I have another collector friend who was interested, but my friend's mom really wanted it to go to kids (she finally accepted she won't be getting grandkids).
