Stranger Things '85 cannot possibly be canonical to the life action series

As the title says, having watched Stranger Things '85 I don't see how it can possibly be compliant with the live action series.

The kids in the show are able to fight off plant/demogorgon hybrids on their own, mostly using a bunch of gadgets that Nikki makes for them in her garage.

By the time the first season ends, these kids have experience fighting monsters way beyond anything we see in season 3 onwards. For crying out loud, Nikki builds a fuckin laser-cannon capable of severing the limbs off of a giant demogorgon/plant queen.

If Stranger Things '85 is cannonical, the way the kids act in season 3 would make no sense. They would be waaaay too experienced in fighting monsters to act the way they do in season 3. For example, when Billy is choking the life out of El, there is no reason at all why the rest of group would just cower and only Mike would have the cajones to intervene. The enemies the kids fight off in Tales from '85 make flayed Billy look meke by comparison.

I know Stranger Things '85 isn't going to directly contradict anything that happens in the latter seasons, but the notion that this could possibly fit into the live-action timeline is just bonkers.

Don't get me wrong, this show is very enjoyable for what it is but I can't see how anyone can watch it without considering it an alternate universe.

EDIT: And just to add something to this, the "gadgets" that Nikki makes are absurd.

It's not just that Nikki has a laser canon, it's the other stuff too.

Nikki also has a chainsword (something straight out of 40k)
Dustin has what appears to be two canons on each arm that fire out flaming plasma balls!
Lucas? -> The slingshot from hell. It might as well be a pistol.
Will? --> Nikki outfits him with what looks like a power axe.
Max? --> Projectile buzz saws
Mike? --> The hockey stick with blades on both sides; all he needs now is the hockey mask and he can be a kid-friendly Jason Voorhies.

These kids have gear that is more effective than what the military has in the live action show, and all of this stuff is made by a 14 year old punk kid.

The cartoon is wonderful, don't get me wrong, but it should definitely be its own thing.

A prediction before May 13 Interview - The military plot

So just ahead of the Duffer's interview tomorrow, I've been thinking of a theory that was going around for a while regarding why the military just let everyone go in the finale.

I suspect that if the Duffers are asked about this, they are going to say something along the lines of:

The military wasn't entirely convinced that Eleven is gone, and so they let everyone go so that they can monitor them in case Eleven ever re-emerged.

Although this answer may sound more plausible than the Duffer's initial answer in January: (IE. "I guess they just picked up and left") it still won't be a whole lot better and it still wouldn't make sense.

Why? - Because if Dr. Kay wasn't actually convinced that Eleven is gone, the easiest way to force her hand and bring her out into the open would be to capture, torture and imprison her friends/family.

Hello,

I have a Samsung fridge - RR14T7414AP. Recently my bottom door shelf broke and I've been looking for a replacement part and cannot seem to order one anywhere!

Every type of door shelf that I've seen on Amazon seems to fit other types of fridges. Either the length is too wide or too short.

I measured the door shelf and it's about 18inches in length and I cannot find a bottom shelf that particular size anywhere.

Can anyone help me, or at least point me in the right direction as to where I can order this replacement part.

I can't believe that it's this hard just to replace a simple door shelf....

So as we all know, Josh Horowitz announced that he's going to be interviewing the Duffers on May 13, 2026, and that they'll be answering all the "big questions".

I saw some people asking "why now?", given that it's been 5 months since the finale dropped.

While I don't think the Duffer brothers watch youtube reviews, there is one particular video by Drew Gooden that stands out to me. If you want to see it, it's easy to find. just search for "Drew Gooden" and "Stranger Things".

For those who don't know, Drew Gooden is a comedian with just under 5 million subscribers. The video in question came out about 3 months ago, after the Duffers gave their intial interviews post-finale and the documentary dropped. That vid now has more than 5 million views.

What's different about this video is that it spends less time talking about the flaws within S5 itself, and devotes a lot more time critiquing the events post-finale. In particular, Gooden spends a great deal of time talking about how the Duffers went on a "generationally bad press run" following the finale, and how all of their interviews + the documentary that dropped made them look awful.

He talks extensively about how the Duffer Brothers couldn't answer very legit questions about the show. For example, the Duffers couldn't explain why the military just let everyone go saying: "I guess they just went away..".

He concludes by pointing out that these interviews, and the subsequent documentary, have potentially tarnished the Duffer's public image.

Now I'm not saying they the Duffers would do an interview over one youtube video, but the critcisms in that video seem to have resonated and have (in my opinoin) been widely echoed.

I can't help but wonder if this upcoming interview on May 13, 2026 isn't an attempt by the Duffer Brothers to address some of these criticisms. Now that they've had some time to think about all the questions they were previously asked, if they haven't thought up more answers and are now giving this interview in order to reclaim control of the narrative?
