Dear Audible,

Can you please stop pushing Harry Potter down my throat? It’s been years, (maybe just feels like it.) that it has been a banner at the top of my audible page. Often as I’m trying to get to my current book, I’ll accidentally hit the wrong button and I’m listening to the same shit I read over 20 years ago.

If someone hasn’t read it or heard it by now, they never will.

Thank you.

Kitty Cakes

Well, we got the news today that our sweet Kitty Cakes has jaw cancer.

Scratch that, she has never been a sweet cat. She’s the kind of cat that has opinions about everything in the house and isn’t shy about judging the humans who live here.

Classic calico attitude in that small package. A cat that runs the household like a tiny CEO. She always found the warm spots in the house, demanded food on schedule like a tyrant, sat on papers or keyboards exactly when I needed them.

She has lived a pretty good cat life already. Calm. Loved. Secure enough to lounge around with that little paw curled like she owns the world.

Tonight she’s still the same cat who showed up in that photo. And for now, that’s the only version of time she knows exist. And we’ll continue to give her comfortable naps, fancy feast meals, and lots of catnip. Until her last breath.
