Why are we still falling for this?

Why are we in the US still falling for this idea that unregulated capitalism still somehow benefits the people? Is propaganda really that strong?

I guess I somehow know the answer… For example the poor, uneducated calling someone a communist for suggesting something that would directly benefit them (universal healthcare, workers rights), and that the elite want this.

But I still am a bit mind blown and confused how it could be so engrained into us.

Custom Build Michigan

Anyone know of a good sauna builder in Michigan?

I’ve heard so many bad things about Sauna kits that I’d rather just spend a bit more money for a good build.

That said, If you can recommend good kits I’m all ears.

Hey all,

Feeling a bit desperate... I can't find any solid reviews on international movers (my family is moving from Hamburg Germany, back to the US). We would need about 8-10 boxes.

I'm desperately hoping some people have experience.

Hey all,

After living in Hamburg (oh my beautiful Hamburg) for 3 years, myself (US citizen), my German wife and our dual citizen 1.5 year old daughter will be giving lovely Northern Michigan a go for a few years. We bought a lovely house in the woods… with beautiful bike trails, lakes, and rolling hills surrounding us. But it will be incredibly different from living in the middle of a 2 million person city, as you can see by the picture.

Have any Germans spent significant time in the US? What are some things you loved, and things you hated? What was difficult, and what advise would you give?

I want to be as supportive of a husband as I can be, and would love your advice.

And PLEASE, my god people… I’m well aware both countries are going to shit. Im well aware of Trump, and the AFD. I don’t need Americans or Germans telling me one place is better.

This post is about your experience.

Context: we move full time in August, she has no experience living there day to day.

Hey all,

I’ve lived in Germany for 3 years, and really love it… But one really horrible thing is how common it is for people to openly correct you, or tell you if they think you’re doing something wrong. For example, my child was playing without her shirt on, and a woman came up and told me I’m risking her health by not keeping her warm. It was 24 Celsius.

It happens ALL the time.

Is there a reason for this? Also is there a nice way to be like, I don’t give a shit about your opinion?
