I replaced the bands today on my 20+ yr old Oval XL. It went pretty easy but the difference it made was huge. The top lines up perfect now, it is extremely easy to lift, won't fall, etc. I was getting almost no lift assist from my antique springs.

I also decided to put the new firebox in that I've had in my shed.

I'm good for another 20 I guess.
