What phenomenal acting from Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan)

I know i'm late to the party but i've just recently picked up TWD over the past few months and i'm now on season 9 Ep 5, spoilers ahead!

What fantastic acting from JDM, he was probably my favourite character throughout season 7-9, the way he first shows up as someone whos charismatic but also slightly psycho, and slowly as the show progresses you peel back the layers and humanise a person who does disgusting, twisted acts.

He presents Negan as a twisted, psychotic character and is able to make you hate him and want him dead as a viewer, but also love him when you see how he is when he isn't trying to uphold a mandate, how charismatic he is as a leader. Then through season 8, slowly through his conversation with gabriel and carl, slowly you peel back the layers of this otherwise 1 dimensional villain, turning him slowly into an antihero. Finally, the pinnacle in season 9, the jail cell scene with maggie, fully humanising Negan and honestly i don't know if this is a hot tak ebut i felt really bad and actually teared up quite a bit from the scene because when you look at him, you no longer see the twisted, evil almost, but strong and unwavering character -- you see a broken man.

What felicitous casting, and without a shadow of doubt, fabulous acting by JDM.

For context, my younger brother He's 17 this year. It started out with him just having an overall dirty room, for example leaving food for days in his room, dirty dishes, clothes on the floor, empty soda cans and just an overall really dirty and messy room. We've (my family and I) have reminded him and he's even been scolded really badly by my dad multiple times to keep his room clean or atleast presentable. This is completely unpresentable. Since its his room , i don't try to stick my nose in too much apart from when its super dirty. Don't get me wrong, i've had my time and i understand how it was when you're younger, but i was never this bad and i was not like this when i was 17 not to this extent.

However, since i've been home recently on holidays i've noticed that it isn't just his room, he has generally no care at all for anything outside of his room either. I'm talking leaving dirty laundry just thrown on the floor outside the washing machine, never doing a single chore (i can't remember the last time i've seen him vacuum, mop or do the laundry or even throw out the trash), leaving dirty dishes in the sink for DAYS (or until someone washes it for him), leaving trash around the house, leaving his folded clothes all over the house, not cleaning the bathroom, not even clearing the shower drain even when its clearly clogged with hair and not putting most things back to how they were after he uses them. I've had it up to here with this guy, i've tried many methods which ill list:

  1. just doing the chores for him and hoping he learns from example, for eg ill wash his dirty dishes for him but he just takes advantage of it and piles it up more, never taking any initiative to wash it himself.
  2. Reminding him, this kinda works he does it sometimes but majority of the time he doesn't and its literally the pinnacle of laziness, someone would've cleared the sink or thrown the trash out and he'd just throw more food waste into the sink or trash without cleaning.

The last method would be to snitch on him to my dad, but i don't wanna do that. I know my dads really strict and the last time he got scolded he cried really bad and i didn't feel great, but i'm afraid that might also be the only method that "works" I also don't want him to resent me for it. Tbh, i'd want the first method to work, but he doesn't see it and he just takes advantage. My mom is also an enabler, she cleans his room for him and falls for all his lies when he says he'll do something but never does it. Today was my final straw and thats why i'm making this post.

Does anyone have any alternatives to the methods I stated ?
