My favorite thing about this show is what comforting background it makes. I’m not sure what makes it stand out so much for me from other shows in this regard. The rewatch potential is endless. Whenever I have a hard thing to do I just put on superstore in the background and it makes it easier. I watched it while I renovated my kitchen, I watch it when I’m sick, I’m watching it now while I stay up all night caring for my newborn. It’s just so relaxing.

Did anyone else’s baby just sleep all day still at 1 month? I know newborns are sleepy and it’s normal to sleep a lot at this age but it’s to the point I can’t really wake him up for even a few minutes at a time.
He will wake for feeds, and he’s gaining weight, but that’s about it. Pediatrician says he probably still has days and nights mixed up, so I should try to engage with him and get him bright light during the day to help establish day/night, but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do about this as he won’t wake to engage with me during the day.
He falls asleep after feeds, he falls asleep during tummy time, after burps and diaper changes, on walks, and all the other little things I’ve tried to do to get him some small wake windows during the day.
We spend time outside and in a bright room during the day, but he just sleeps through most of it. But then he’s up a lot at night, so I would like to be able to help him adjust but I’m not sure what to do.
Like right now it’s 5:00pm, he hasn’t really had a wake window other than a few sleepy feeds since 11am, and I’m worried he will have a really bad night because he isn’t building any sleep pressure for the night. I tried a few gentle things to wake him (diaper change, tickling his feet, walking him around the house and talking to him) but he just falls right back asleep.
I get it won’t be a lot…but I would really like to be able to engage with my baby during the day in 30-60 minute wake windows and we can’t get any time to even start teaching him day and night.
Tell me how crappy your nights were at three weeks and how good they are now. I need a reminder that this gets better soon. My baby would not go to sleep until 10pm last night. Then he woke up at 1am, 3:30am, 4:30am, 5:30am and was up for the day at 6:45am. I am exhausted.
He slept for three hours, then 1 hour and 40 minutes, then 40 minutes, then 1 hour with a ton of fussing and false starts between each stretch of sleep. I know this is normal but I hate it and I’m just having one of those days where I feel like I will never sleep again. Send help and coffee lol
