Too Autistic for Work?
Honestly I’m feeling really disheartened, I’ve not long moved jobs to another team within the company I’ve worked at for the last 2.5 years. I moved as per a request from the team manager stating she thought I’d be good for the role. I pushed myself to take the job as I thought it would be a good opportunity to learn. So far I’m really not enjoying it. I’m finding it incredibly stressful and have been given little direction.
I’ve applied for more roles elsewhere and my cv and experience always gets through but when I get to the virtual scenarios and personality test style questions I get rejected every time.
I just don’t know where to go at this point I have a BSc and was awarded with the companies integrity award last year so I know that I’m capable of working somewhere better. I want to progress beyond minimum wage and move forward in life not only in work but outside too but it honestly feels like I’m not being given a chance because I’m autistic. I like rigid routines and I like direction. No I don’t always handle change as well as others could but I feel like I could be a real asset to a workplace.
