My Saturn isn't reading discs?
I'm having a problem with my Saturn: it won't read discs and doesn't even detect my memory card anymore. I suspect the memory card issue is just due to oxidation—something I've seen happen before. As for the disc, the console recognizes it but won't read it; the carriage doesn't move. The disc spins normally, but the lens doesn't shift—it stays stuck near the spindle. I noticed a yellow wire under the lens that looks a bit out of place; that might be the cause, though I'm not an expert. It's a Saturn with a region-free BIOS; the battery was replaced, and the console was supposedly fully checked over. I'm including the model details and some photos of the issue.
