What if the game was shot by Kurosawa?

Last Christmas my good friends surprised me with this absolute beauty. I've never been more grateful for a gift. Truly felt like they knew what I appreciated.
The disc itself wasn't just a medium for playing the game; it was a work of art that reflected the title's identity and spirit. Its minimalist, mysterious design was full of character, something that's becoming increasingly difficult to replace in the age of digital storefronts, UI icons, and tiny thumbnail images.
As physical releases continue to decline and the industry shifts further toward digital distribution, we're gradually losing one of gaming's most beautiful aspects: the cover art, the disc, the manual, and the feeling of owning a real piece of gaming history.
Do yall remember this? For some reason this popped back into my brain and I tried to find the original channel. There's a few re-uploads of the video, but I couldn't find the og channel. Does anyone know what happened to it?
been a fan since the original on ps2. usually i prefer original to remakes but they did such a beautiful faithful inspired job, its hard to pick a favorite.
I’ve never played shadow of the colossus but I’ve really wanted to for a long time now. The issue is that I don’t have a pc or a ps2/ps3 so I can’t play the original, and I really don’t like that the remake removed/worsened some animations, made the main character look strange, remade OSTs, made all the colossi sound the same, and added so much greenery and removed the bloom that it kinda ruins the look the world was going for. So I was wondering if there would ever be a chance of the ps2 or ps3 version being ported or remastered, or will I just have to deal with not being able to play it.
does anyone know how to backflip in a consistent way? i just find it so cool 😭
Before talking about this I want to provide a spoiler warning if you haven’t seen the movie, “Reign Over Me” starring Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle.
Anyway, I wanted to discuss this here after just watching the movie because as a big sotc fan I think its awesome how people can see this game and find their own meaning in it and how that impacts them. “Reign Over Me” is a buddy drama that has Don Cheadle’s character reconnect with an old friend (Adam Sandler) who lost his wife and three daughters to the 9/11 attacks five years prior to the current events. Sandler’s character’s main forms of coping are not thinking about his family or life before at all to the point where he feigns forgetting them altogether, and spends his time obsessively play Shadow of the Colossus and painting his kitchen. Focusing in on the obsessive gaming, the writer and editor of Reign Over Me incorporates the use of SOTC not just as a simple marketing scheme, but as a way to parallel the inner turmoil of Sandler’s character. The editor, Jeremy Roush, talks about how his father after suffering major PTSD from the Vietnam War and would never speak of it, would play the film Aliens by James Cameron over and over to the point of needing to purchase a new VHS tape. If you’ve ever seen the film Aliens, you can easily draw major parallels from the film to the Vietnam War, and Roush deduces that this is his fathers way of thinking about the war without actually thinking about it. This is what Shadow of the Colossus is in Reign Over Me, its Sandler’s character way of thinking about what happened to his family without actually thinking about it. SOTC is a story about trying to resurrect a lost loved one, a game where we see giants fall in slow motion, as if Sandler’s character is seeing those towers fall all over again. The director made special note to include certain colossi into the film and one of the ones we see makes perfect sense within the context of the film. When Sandler is teaching Cheadle how to play the game, he has him fight the Fifth Colossi, Avion. And as we see Avion dive toward the camera in the film, its as if Sandler is seeing that plane dive towards him. I think this film used a video game in such a great way that actually elevates its themes, and after reading about SOTC’s inclusion I wanted to share it.
Hi i just found some rock formations you're able to climb up on C6 by the very edge, on a tree. Idk why but i thought it would be a cool fact, it seems like the rocks on top are solid but i gave up trying to reach them, you can jump towards the rocks of the cliff side or the ones near the sun opening, yeah that's it.
For those who don't know, there's a glitch on the final pillar. All you have to do is spam the X button on the side of the pillar near the ground. For some reason, the game freaks out and launches you all the way to the top. This was one of my first successful attempts, but with enough practice you'll be able to land the jump on your first try consistently.
Then, after removing the Colossus' armor, pay close attention to where I jump. If you land in that exact spot, the AI bugs out and gets stuck in the corner, allowing you to attack without being interrupted.
If I hadn't gotten a little too impatient and jumped off the pillar too early, forcing me to waste time getting the Colossus' attention again with an arrow, and with a bit more practice on the super jump, it's definitely possible to beat this fight in under a minute lol.
I know this question probably asked here so many times but pls…I just lost
Hello, I have a question about the secret coin in the 15th colossi’s arena. I have watched two tutorials and tried the different ways of getting to the coin but keep failing on the jump over to the area. Does anyone have any advice on why this seems to not be working?
I’ve noticed the area where you jump to in the videos is different than the one in my game. The overhang you normally jump over too is coverer by a tree, could they have updated it and removed that path? I’ve attached the two tutorial videos here (#39 18 min): https://youtu.be/awFlJLIUCgw?is=4OE72lMUnBTKe3fc
