38M - New to Sacramento with my pug

Hey Sacramento 👋

I’m brand new to the area and moved to Midtown a few days ago. I live alone with my pug, so you’ll probably see the two of us wandering around town looking slightly lost.

I moved here to be closer to Sac State while I work on my MS in Business Analytics. School keeps me pretty busy, but outside of that I love cooking (mostly vegetarian Indian food), hanging out at cafés with my laptop, and listening to music. Hip-hop, jazz, funk, and soul are my favorites — Tupac has been in heavy rotation lately.

I’m also into documentaries, history, older movies, psychology, sociology, mental health, and just having interesting conversations about life.
I used to be much more into drinking and smoking, but those days are mostly behind me. These days I’m happier grabbing coffee, trying some good food, exploring the city, going for a walk, catching some live music, or just hanging out.

I’ve bounced around quite a bit — lived in Europe, the Midwest, and the West Coast, and spent several years in SF working in fintech before deciding to change things up and go back to school.
I’m naturally a bit of a loner, but I’m trying to make more of an effort to meet people and build a circle here. So… what’s up, Reddit? 😂

If any of this sounds like your vibe, say hey. Always down to grab coffee, explore Sacramento, or meet some cool people.

Opinions on MSBA (MS Business Analytics

Hi all, I’m 39, and a late bloomer when it comes to education. Finished my BA in communications when I was 28. Worked in fintech for 10 years in Sales and Account management. I have some experience with SQL and python.

Do you think an MSBA is worthwhile? My concern is that with AI, this perhaps is a redundant or outdated field of study. I got accepted into a MSBA program but need some opinion as to whether I should do it or not. Any other degrees you think will be better for the long run? Thank you
