I’ve been subjected to multiple videos of a srilankan celebrities wedding over the past few days. Looks like a lovely couple and I don’t know them personally or know anyone who knows them personally. I work abroad and recently came here on holiday, scrolling online and came across a video where I noticed that the groom kept making this weird hand sign (attached screenshot) which is associated with everyone involved in the manosphere ( the recent Louis Theroux documentary released describes it well).
For those of you who aren’t aware of what that was, it’s basically a bunch of uneducated men who think women are idiots and need to be led, and often have multiple relationships and pimp out young women for prostitution.

My question is, is the groom in question showing his association with the manosphere thereby agreeing to those sentiments (women are dumb, need to be led and can’t be in leadership positions and hangout with prostitutes) or does this hand gesture mean something completely different in this part of town?

Concerned because I told my cousin this and she had an absolute melt down 😂because the woman this man married is a relatively big deal where now she (my cousin) thinks that he’s pimping her out. I’m sure it’s not the case but you should have seen her face because she was indeed shooketh.

Edit: obvs I understand there are bigger problems affecting the country but I was curious and genuinely did not know who to ask
