I'm concidering buying a wii to dump the nand so I could enjoy the internet connected wii stuff to the full extent, but I'm worried about what if the previous owner did the same thing and got banned on wiilink. Will I have to just roll the dice and hope or is there some way of knowing before I buy?

Anytime I enable the direct pro controller driver all my controllers stop appearing accept a lic pro (first party switch pro controller) if connected with bluetooth adapter, but with no gyro support (has gyro when connected via Mayflash ns2).
I'm running a fresh install of fedora KDE 44
I have xbox one s controllers
1st party switch pro controllers (lic2 pro and lic pro) show up but no gyro
3rd party switch controllers (this) don't show up
and a 1st party ps5 controller doesn't show up
All the controllers controllers connect and work as long as the direct driver isn't enabled.
Is the improvement the direct driver offers worth all this effort to get it working? for example how noticeable is the latency decrease and improved gyro accuracy?
