Drinking with Naltrexone?

A friend of mine was telling me that you can use naltrexone as needed, so like you take one before drinking and then you won’t end up too drunk.
I am wondering if anyone has any personal experience with this they can share?
The problem I’ve always had with drinking is that once I get drunk, I keep going. It’s like a switch is activated in my brain that says “more” no matter how far past my limit I am. My friend is like me, and he said for him taking a Naltrexone before having drinks basically disabled that switch for him. He said once he got buzzed, instead of getting that feeling of needing to keep drinking to keep the buzz going, he just gets kind of tired and switches to water because he no longer has that uncontrollable desire to drink more. Has this worked for anyone else?
I have some Naltrexone sitting in my cabinet that I used for about a month last year, it totally curbed my desire to drink and I haven’t drank in a year.
My goal was to make it to a year and I’m past that, and I want to try having some drinks for a special occasion.
Please share any advice or experience.

if I should post this somewhere else I’d be happy to be redirected! This felt like the appropriate sub but I’m not sure. Thank you!!!*

Why did acupuncture make me sick?

If this is not appropriate for this sub I apologize and will happily be redirected!

I recently got acupuncture for the first time. I am a massage therapist myself of many years, so I’ve always been a big believer/supporter of acupuncture- I’d just never gotten around to getting it done. My shoulder is currently messed up from work, and I’ve been in excruciating pain. Massage helps a lot, but I sadly can’t afford regular massages and my work doesn’t allow us to do trades during busy season, so I decided to try acupuncture. My coworker recommended a place she frequents and speaks highly of. The woman who treated me was so wonderful. She did an extremely thorough intake and seemed very knowledgeable in her trade. I was so excited to hopefully get some relief.

She put a couple needles in my sub-scap area, and within seconds it was like a wave of sickness smacked me across the face. I became incredibly dizzy and nauseous, started sweating profusely, couldn’t move my hands… it felt like extreme sea sickness or like when you drink too much and you get the spins. She was very kind and removed the needles and brought me some water. I had to go to the bathroom to puke. When I came back I asked her “do people have this response sometimes?” And she was basically like, “no not really”.

Can anyone help me understand what happened, and why?

For context, I have no issues with needles. I’m covered in tattoos. I also have a medical condition that has required me to inject myself for years. I’ve had more blood draws and shots than your average person, hell I used to have to give myself an IV twice a week for years. So there was no anxiety whatsoever around the needles. If anything, I was excited. I was also plenty hydrated at the time.

The acupuncturist suggested it could be a vagus nerve issue, but mostly she seemed pretty baffled by my reaction. Plz help me understand, thank you!!

Planet fitness in OCC

Hello!
How is Planet Fitness in OCC? Specifically:

How is the parking situation?

How bad are the crowds? (Late mornings sun/mon/tues, 2-5pm the rest of the days)

Is it actually “judgement free”? I really don’t want to be surrounded by fitness instagram models recording their workouts lol

Is the tanning/amenities worth it, in terms of availability and quality?

Any other pros/cons/advice is appreciated, thank you!

I did search this sub before posting and did not find any posts asking this same question- if I missed it, I apologize.

Question for CA estis who do advanced treatments (laser, injectables, etc)

Hello fellow Estis!

I am trying to gather some information that I cannot for the life of me find online.

I was originally licensed in CA and still hold my CA esthetician license. I’m currently living/practicing in CO. I plan to move back to CA in about two years. I have been saving money for continued education, but I’m not sure what to do. Here in CO, you just have to get a certification to be able to do lasers or injectables- being a nurse is NOT required. My understanding is that in California, you do have to be a nurse to do those services. So before I go spend thousands on certifications, I want to make sure that education transfers to CA.

Basically I’m trying to figure out what licenses, certification, education, etc is required in California for an esthetician to be able to offer those med spa services. Is there a website that clearly displays this information? (state board site is NOT helpful). Everything I find online is so vague and all over the place, I’m extremely frustrated!

Can anyone here direct me where to find this information, or share your experience?

Thank you in advance!!
