I am an old Devil Dog, MCRD San Diego 1969 and RVN same year with 3/3. Proud as ever.

In my career I must have had hundreds of interviews for a job. I estimate that 75% of the HR (or higher) interviews contained the question “So why did you joins the Marines?”

Sometimes their smirk gave away their reasons, Arrogance or superiority ("I'm better than you.")  Or. Contempt or disdain (You were in Vietnam!) or worse “Did you kill anyone?” the ultimate insult. It ignores everything else I experienced—the training, friendships, fear, loss, and years of service.
