Blackberry Season

As much as we hate dealing with them in our yards, the berries are so dang tasty. Here’s your reminder to go pick them in your alley soon!

New Job After Applying For 15 Years and Working in the Private Sector

My entire adulthood my father told me to get on with the state for a pension. Something to secure my future.

I finally got a county job and I’m so proud of myself. I’ve been applying for state & county jobs for 15 years now and finally something stuck.

I am so unbelievably proud of myself.

Free Narcans

Just a reminder that the library at 56th & Pac has a vending machine with free Narcan.

It’s located inside the library between the printers and the checkout area. Just enter the number for the Narcan you want, and it will dispense.

I’ve had to give out Narcan to a few people recently, so I wanted to share this resource in case anyone wasn’t aware of it. Hopefully it’s helpful to someone who might need it.

Discard Loaf

I finally attempted a discard loaf and it turned out pretty amazing! I only did one stretch and fold (I forgot about it) and got some good spring on it.

I’m going to try it again later this week to see if it was a miracle or not lol.

100g HUNGRY starter - didn’t feed for 24 hours
300g water
500g flour
10g salt

I mixed - forgot about it for 2 hours. Did one set of stretch and folds.
Bulked for 11 hours (67 degree house)
Shaped and cold proofed for 9.5 hours
Baked 450 degrees for 30 min lid on - 15 off.

Work spirals

I know someone already posted this, however I’m spiraling with this work anxiety. I recently got a large promotion and absolutely no training. I’ve gotten 4 promotions with this same company and this is the 3rd time I had 0 training. Left to figure it out myself.

Now to the anxiety. It’s CONSTANT. I have it so bad I can’t get things done. I can’t think straight. I know once I get rolling I’ll be fine but that’s all I can think about. Does anyone have any advice? I already go on walks and try to ground myself.
