I find myself stuck in manchild relationships where I have to run life for everyone. I’m so tired of neglect because he can’t handle emotions or understand what to do with them. I get it’s not his fault, believe me I’ve made a million excuses for him. But I am tired of men who act like boys. I’m ready to stay single and get a dog at this point. I know we attract the same people over and over so I am working on my own emotional and spiritual intelligence to break this painful cycle.

But I ask do emotionally intelligent men exist? Do they stay when conversations get hard? Do they deflect when she says she’s not okay? Do they stay loyal even when a hotter coworker asks for their phone number? Do they get angry at her for saying why she’s not okay?

I am tired of my empathy being abused, but it feels impossible to avoid it. Now I’ve got chronic C-PTSD from the people who swore they loved me on board as well. I feel like I may be too broken for people now.

If these unicorns are out there? How do you tell them apart from the ones to avoid. What do you look for? What questions do you ask?
