Living with in laws

Does anyone have any advice on what makes living with your in laws smoother? My in laws are great MA, they’ve never asked me to cook and clean or any of that stuff, I even have my own kitchen and lounge on a different floor next to my room, but for people who live without their spouses at their in laws how do you navigate stuff?

I was thinking of joining a gym there, and I work remotely so I might pop into a cafe occasionally afterwards to get out a bit. I was also thinking I’d cook my own dinner, lunch etc because we have vastly different tastes. HOWEVER, I don’t want to come off as ungrateful or like distant, I’m very grateful they’re letting me stay with them while my husband is away, but I also feel like I need this stuff to stay sane.

I don’t want them to feel like I’m an imposition, or for them to feel out of place having me around and I also don’t want to make it uncomfortable for myself.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Grief around TTC

Spouse and I have been trying for a while. We really through this cycle would be the one. Got my period today, and even thought I kept telling myself I would, took 3 pregnancy tests to soften the blow, I just feel nothing makes it hit you any less when your period does come around. It honestly feels like grief to me in a way, it’s hard to explain but it’s like grieving what you thought was gonna be your turn finally.

I just feel so lost and honestly I feel like giving up for my mental peace. All I do all month is think about this, and obsessed over it every little tweak in my body only for it all to be nothing. My spouse says we should get fertility testing done, but I’ve heard about so many couples who had that done and are still struggling. Everything just feels so pointless, I wish I had half the resilience of the people on this sub.

Test in a few weeks, please give me pointers!

What advice would you give me based on these? I failed for not checking my blind spots which my instructor told me specifically but I’d really like to know what else I can improve? I understand speed and undue hesitation but aside from these.

Got my period, again

Hi guys,

I literally just discovered this forum a week ago when my period was late for the first time ever, and I just got my period now. So pretty bummed out right now.

For context, we’re both 26 and just started trying for a baby 2 months ago, after waiting for 2 years. I know a lot of people don’t think 2 months is that long and we’ve read you shouldn’t be worried up to a year. I haven’t gone excessively let myself get wrapped up in ovulation days because I tend to spiral when I feel like I can control things being a micromanager.

My concern is we used pull out for a year and didn’t end up getting pregnant by accident then either. And my MIL gave us a whole speech about infertility and couples who aren’t grateful and wait and then they can’t conceive and I feel like that’s just stressing me out now. I want to start seeing a gynae but I know my GP will tell me to relax and keep trying. It doesn’t help when people around me keep telling me they got pregnant without even trying or they got pregnant the first time they tried. Am I being crazy or should I start getting help or tracking ovulation if that helps?

The stories here really give me hope guys, thankyou to all of you who share them 🤍
