HP Thunderbolt 100W G6 Docking Station for M5 and M5 Pro MBP

Hello, I am looking for a docking station that allows me to link both my MBPs (one at a time obviously) to 2 external monitors via DP or HDMI and charge, with a single usb-c cable.

I came across HP Thunderbolt 100W G6 and wanted to ask if it actually supports this setup with the MacBooks (still getting kinda confused on how Macs work on this aspect tbh), or if there's a better alternative for this price range, before opting for the 400+ euros CalDigit docks.

Thanks in advance.

Suggestions? My WFH & Gaming Setup

I'm pretty happy with how the desk turned out, but still feel something is missing.

How to set up both Macbook and gaming pc

Hello guys,

I have an older LG 34GN850 as my main monitor for my WFH + gaming setup, and in addition a ED270UPbiipx as second screen.

I'm looking for a way to connect both my work MacBook and my gaming pc to the single display port this monitor has (and possibly also the second monitor).

Tried connecting the MacBook via hdmi but refresh rate gets capped at 85hz (guess it's the monitor's hdmi version?)

I saw that there are some kvm switches that should be my use case, but I'm unsure if any of them supports the 3440x1440 165hz that I currently have when I connect my pc directly.

Do you have any suggestions? Eventually being able to set up the MacBook with a single usb-c would be fantastic

Please help me choose (0 experience with handhelds)

Hello everyone,

I have to take the train for around 10 hours once a week for work purposes, so was thinking of getting myself a handheld to help me pass the time.

Problems start here, can't decide what my target machine should be.
Would like to spend around 400€, preferably on a used device. I found a Rog Ally (not xbox) with the Z1E chip for around 280€, but don't know if searching for something else would be a better decision.

To summarize some points:

  • Would not be my main machine, and would be used basically only while on train
  • Not interested in playing online games on it (switching OS wouldn't be an issue)
  • Would like generally to play games like AC or anything story-based

Would the Rog Ally I found be a good choice or should I look for something else?
