I have been given the task to make an aquarium for a community center. Stocking suggestions?
As the title says. I was given the task to make an aquarium for a local community center I work at. Some of the clients have been asking and today the director came to me knowing I have experience in the hobby.
Now, I have 2 tanks at home 1 30 gallon community tank. And a 5 gallon betta tank. (Would have gone bigger but slow half blind boy doesn't get around that good.) Mine has neon tetra, platy, panda corys, and cherry shrimp. My concerns are the fish hardiness in case of an emergency. (i.e. children) Also, don't need the platy to breed like crazy like they do in my tank and having the regular staff or program manager have to figure out what to do with them.
I definitely going Walstad method like mine. This will over time help reduce the amount of maintenance needed for times I am not around. My guess is they will either go with a 30 or 55 gallon My thoughts are some harlequin rasbora, neon tetra, corydoras, and a pearl gourami as the center piece. Again, hardiness is my main concern. But also, want some activity and nice colors for the kids to enjoy. So any suggestions would be appreciated.
I haven't tested the water in the center yet. But am assuming it's very close to mine at home as I live only a few minutes away.
