Betta tank filter and heater placement
Is this ok setup for betta tank like where the filter and heater is located?

Is this ok setup for betta tank like where the filter and heater is located?
My 5-in-1 test strip came back looking good, so I’m getting close to adding fish I just have to test for ammonia and then my current plan is:
8 Harlequin rasboras
6 Corydoras
1 snail
Then about a week later, 1 male betta
The tank has a split theme—one side is bright and colorful, and the other side is darker with driftwood and a cave (the driftwood is floating still and I haven’t got the cave yet) I’m thinking a skull cave
I’m adding live plants on top of the tank and having the root system inside the tank
Does this stocking plan look good, or would you change anything? Any suggestions before I add the fish?
Went to a few stores today and loved this set up, had me thinking I haven't seen a good cichlid tank on here for some time. Show us yours!
Hi everyone! I’m just getting into the aquarium hobby, and my brother-in-law is helping me get started. He’s giving me the 15-gallon tank pictured along with a heater, sponge filter, light, sand, some beneficial bacteria, and conditioned water.
He mentioned that his style of tank is blackwater. Is that the best setup, or is it just personal preference? I was hoping for more of a clean aesthetic, but I really like the look of driftwood and real plants (the inspiration photos are attached).
For a 15-gallon tank:
What style would you recommend?
Should I use sand or switch to a more natural-colored gravel?
Do you think a betta is a good fish to start with?
Any other recommendations for a beginner?
I’d love any advice! Thanks!
So far just 3 weeks into a dry start

Good morning all,
This is my 9.3gal UNS tank. Have been in the hobby for about a year now, and went off the deep end. Just curious on people’s thoughts of this tank. Placement of plants and hardscape was centered around the fact that you could see all three sides prior to getting a stand for the tank. So I plan on growing in limnophila tall against the right side.
I’m interested in a small tank probably around a 10 gallon size, I really like scary or cool looking fish, I feel like I wouldn’t be good at a saltwater because you have to be extremely meticulous and I’m a student, meaning I am probably looking for some beginning friendly fish. I think eels are really cool looking, I like black goldfish, catfish, anything with teeth or that’s kind of scary or really unique. I would really like the tank to be active because I mainly want fish so I can watch them move around. I don’t think I could have anything to predatorial because I want multiple so I can watch them all interactive move around.
Did a new scape for my boy. As you can tell I love to use live plants. His new pals are green neon tetras and some bloody Mary shrimp. He's a gentle boy and doesn't bother any of them.
It’s a 70L i got for free. I don’t know the names of the fish in english but the plan was to have as much variety as possible. Theres been no issues so far in terms of territorial aggression or anything else.
