Overstocked 29 gallon

So I’m a bit new to the hobby and am genuinely curious. In a year or so, I’ll be moving and getting a 40-gallon tank to put everything into, but for now, I want to know if what I have is overstocked. I have 5 Amano shrimp, 6 Sterbai corys, 10 neon green tetras, 6 mollies, 6 guppies, and a large assortment of nerite, ramshorn, and bladder snails.

New tank syndrome help

Hey everyone. I set up a tank about 2 weeks ago and, despite my better judgment, I decided to add fish after seeing 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and a small amount of nitrate. Big mistake.

I've already lost 2 mollies, another 2 are very lethargic, and I also lost an Amano shrimp. I realize now where I went wrong, and I'm doing everything I can to save the remaining fish. It looks like I'm going to have to finish this as a fish-in cycle.

As soon as I tested the water and saw the ammonia was at 0.5 ppm, I did a 35% water change. I also dosed the tank with Seachem Prime and API Quick Start. After that, I was able to get some used filter media from a local fish store and added it to my filter to help seed the tank.

What should I do next to give the remaining fish the best chance of surviving?

For some context:

- The tank is 2 weeks old.

- I tried cycling it using the fish food method.

- It's heavily planted.

- Before adding fish, it showed 0 ammonia for 3 days, and after water changes it was processing the ammonia from the fish food within about 24 hours.

- I live in San Diego, and I also discovered that our tap water quality isn't great, which definitely hasn't helped.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I really want to get this under control and save the fish I have left.
