Americans unironically call a 1M km 1.9 tdi unreliable because it has a timing belt...

Can it be done by just swapping the crankshaft and rods (and a remap)?
The tax and insurance for a 3l engine in my country are insane, while for 2.5l they are still ok.
My only fear is that I got a ban on multiple subreddits, and without knowing exactly where, I might catch a site-wide ban because I post in these communities with my alt.
Does this engine have more juice to squeeze out of it with a remap? I'm interested in a Skoda Octavia III with the 110hp euro6 variant.
