Recently bought a fender player 2 and was disappointed to notice Multiple tool marks and sharp edges along the “rolled” edges. My 200 euro takamine g series acoustic doesn’t boast to have “rolled” edges and feels more comfortable against my hand. I was expecting better QC from a 900 plus euro instrument. Especially when I compare it to the rolled edge fretboard on the Sire Larry Carlton S7 that’s over 230 euro cheaper I played a few weeks back this seems like a piss poor effort to be honest. The more I look I noticed the fretwork is just shit all around. A lot of them look like they’ve been bashed in and have holes where the frets don’t fully go into the slots. Also the wood filed down around them looks awful. I was ALMOST willing to overlook all that until I took off the backplate only to find some of the finish and paint came off with it. Completely unacceptable QC and I actually feel insulted that they think it’s okay to charge someone almost €1000 euro for this.

The “rolled” edges on my new player 2 Strat that must’ve been done at 4pm on a Friday evening lol

The high E side is a bit better as can be seen from picture 3 but tool marks and sharp edges arent a good look when you use rolled edges as one of the new upgrades for the player II series. My 200 euro takamine g series acoustic doesn’t boast to have “rolled” edges and feels more comfortable against my hand. Still love the guitar but I was expecting better QC from a 900 plus euro instrument. Probably doesn’t seem as bad as I’m making it out but when I compare it to the rolled edge fretboard on the Sire Larry Carlton S7 that’s over 230 euro cheaper I played a few weeks back this seems like a piss poor effort to be honest. Anyone else experience this with their so called rolled edge fretboard on their fender?

Finally bought myself an electric guitar as a 30th birthday present! Limited edition shell pink player II strat. Absolutely delighted with it. Now I’m just waiting for my boss katana 50 to arrive.

NGD Fender Player II limited edition shell pink!

I started playing about a year ago with a takamine g series acoustic so I decided to gift myself an electric guitar for my 30th birthday and as a congratulations for sticking with learning!

As the title says, is this actually a way to play F#dim? Getting my pinky to the 4th fret of the D string literally seems impossible without my third finger slipping, my pinky muting all the strings below it, or bending my wrist to a VERY awkward position. I’ve looked online and at some YouTube videos and haven’t seen anyone else play it this way. Also, isnt the pinky note kind of redundant anyway since there’s already an f# on the high E string? I suppose it would give it a “fuller” sound having an f# on a base string though. I’m still very much a beginner so apologies if this is common knowledge. Thanks in advance for any advice.
