New Personal Step Record!
This is my longest walk ever, and I am about 1 walk away from a major goal! When that is done I'll post a video!

Around Kalamazoo Michigan. The trails were nice. Downtown Kalamazoo was not. Easily worse than Detroit
I was really frustrated because I didn't set up my bitlocker key for my new laptop, and Windows locked me out.

But after thinking about what I use the machine for, I read some tutorials and got the entire machine switched over to Linux!
Kalamazoo River Valley Trail. Another leg on my way to Lake Michigan. Anyone want to join me for a portion?

Anyone on or around campus still good with laptops? I have a HP and apparently I forgot to set up a BitLocker key, so now I can't even get it open. I don't have a restore file or a copy of Windows.
But given I just use it for some very basic stuff and don't have much on it, I was thinking it might be worthwhile to switch to Linux Mint. I had been thinking of doing that anyway.
Anyone able to help me out? I would pay for your time. DM me
I've really gotten into walking/hiking as a hobby. Yesterday I set a new personal record with over 60k steps in a day, covering about 27.5 miles
And a nice hike through the forest was a very nice bonus
Today started off with a gorgeous hike through the forest of the Northern side of the Fort Custer National Cemetery. Old trees, boardwalks though marshlands, huge areas full of mayapples.
The next part was tedious, a walk down the shoulder of M96. I just wanted to get it over with so I made it a stretch goal. Made it all the way to the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail.
Bonus I hit a personal record
About 15 miles yesterday. Battle Creek has such a great riverfront linear park, with a wonderful statue to the Underground Railroad
It had the benefit of being a beautiful day, and the smell of the honeysuckle was amazing
Sorry for this first world problem, but fuel prices are messing up what I had set as a larger goal, preventing me from being able to afford to drive to the trailheads. Ironic, gas prices being too high to walk, right?
It has really affected my motivation though. I need to start working on goals closer to home, but the urge to explore is a major factor in walking. Not sure why I am posting really, maybe just to see if anyone can relate. I do enjoy seeing everyone else post though, so thank you for that, keep it up!
