The revolver bug has its teeth firmly in me and I want something small to carry, either in a jacket pocket or on my belt.
I’m between a model 10-7 2”, a pre model 10 (cause it’s cool) and a 649 j frame. I know the J frames are smaller but I like having 6 shots vs 5. I just don’t know if K frames are too big for that kind of use.
Local shop had both a Colt 1917 and a Smith and Wesson 1917, both US property marked. I jumped on the smith for $1500.
I was always a big fan of the magnified optics in the game, especially the Elcan. But after the boiling point DLC, I feel like they’re almost unusable. Even when set to the 1X level, you aim so slowly.
I was messing around last night trying to give the Elcan another try, and I watched an enemy walk faster than I could track with the optic. He was able to basically outrun where I was aiming. I’d really love an aim down sight sensitivity setting. It’s one of the biggest issues I have with the game
About a week ago I made a post about finding this used M&P subcompact in 9mm. I wanted something in the subcompact/micro range but didn’t want a shield, and I’m not a fan of the 365, so when i found one of these local I couldn’t say no.
The one issue I ran into was the gun came with the small backstrap. I have larger hands, and those weren’t gonna work. Called Smith’s customer service department to see if they had the larger ones for sale. After a brief hold, I was sent a full set of backstraps for free.
Not much more I could ask for some S&W.
I’ve wanted a smaller gun for a while, but really didn’t want a P365. Everyone kept pushing me towards a shield plus or bodyguard, but I just loved the look of the M&P subcompact.
Walked into my LGS trying to look at a Glock 30, left with this. Even has the thumb safety I wanted. Just have to swap the trigger for the new flat one from smith and get some sights.
Took my 1975 gold cup to the range over the weekend and it appears under recoil, the Ellison rear sight’s elevation screw is stripped.
My question is basically how F’d am I? Is this something that can be fixed or am I gonna have to mill my slide for a Bomar?
Gonna preface here, This is a bit of an odd post compared to what I’m seeing in this sub.
I live in New York, and have some friends who would like to go shooting for their birthday. Only issue is, New York won’t let them even think about touching my handguns. Initially, I was going to go to Heritage guild in Easton and we’d rent some handguns, but that’s proving to be a tad bit pricy.
So next best plan. Find a range close enough and bring my guns with me. I was looking at Dingmans shooting range, but I know nothing about them. Are they good? Are there any other ranges you’d recommend for this type of thing?
