10 yrs Lithium, Kidney issues?

36 yrs old, 2 months post partum, been on lithium for 10yrs today. Had blood work done and my creanine level was high according to my doctor. Got it tested again after lots of water, down a bit (1.02). She said it was high for someone my age.

Question: I heard lithium use this long can affect your kidney function. Anyone had this issue yet? If so, what happened and what can I expect when I meet with a nephrologist? What steps can I take to mitigate the damage? I’ve always drank a lot of water. My Lithium dose will go down from 900mg to 750mg and I have an appointment with the kidney specialist in a month. Thanks in advance!

Failed induction

Had a c section may 27. Wondering if I have a way to make a case about medical malpractice. The nurse who was putting the IV in my arm at the start of labor could not find my find my vein, she poked me twice. The injection site felt hot and I could feel the liquid pulsing in my skin not just my vain. I pointed this out and was dismissed. They pumped me with pitocin for 30 hours and my labor only progressed to 4 cm. I came into the hospital at 2 cm and 80% effaced, so they were optimistic in the beginning. I feel that I wasn’t getting enough pitocin the whole time time.

They broke my water, gave me so many cervical exams just to force me into a c section. Is there anyway I can prove I did not get the correct dose of pitocin compared to what they claimed I was getting? I ended up having my baby 48 hrs later. I felt that all these medical interventions could have been avoided if I was properly induced with the right amount of pitocin at Swedish Hospital in Seattle.

Olanzapine- what am I signing up for?

Giving birth next week, bipolar 1, psychiatrist prescribed this to me 2.5mg for irritability or lack of sleep after the birth. Mom (trigger) is visiting so I need some sort of post partum antipsychotic to deal with her. I heard you can gain a shit ton of weight. Is this true for a dose this low. I’m incredibly self critical and vain, if I gain any more weight it will put me into depression.

Apparently this is the gold standard for post partum antipsychotics. I have tried many before just not this one. Wondering if there are any other options!
