[Fellow] Australians who have had laser eye surgery done in Australia - how did it go?

Not exactly about culture but wanted to ask a broad cross section of Aussies. I know a few people who have travelled to Asia (eg South Korea) for it, but not a lot of people who have done it here. Obviously those posting in dedicated subreddits are not exactly a cross section.

Having suffered through a head-exploding amount of trial and error, sharing what worked for me to get KAJPLATS bulbs not only to connect with Hue, but also to address the won’t turn off issue.

Have tested this with 4 x E14 bulbs and 2 x E27 bulbs and it seems to work reliably. The difference is likely due to the software versions - 1.1.0 for E27 and 1.2.0 for E14.

E14

  1. Power cycle 12 times - confirmed by five cool light blinks
  2. Power cycle 15 times - no confirmation
  3. Use ‘touchlink’ via Hue Essentials
  4. Add bulb in normal Hue app - now works but cannot power off
  5. Power cycle 6 times to factory reset - hue app will show bulb unreachable
  6. Power cycle 12 times - confirmed by five cool light blinks
  7. Reconnect via Hue app - should now be possible to turn off!!!

E27

  1. Power cycle 12 times - confirmed by five cool light blinks
  2. Power cycle 15 times - no confirmation
  3. Use ‘touchlink’ via Hue Essentials
  4. Add bulb in normal Hue app - now works but cannot power off
  5. Power cycle 6 times to factory reset - hue app will show bulb unreachable
  6. Power cycle 12 times - confirmed by five cool light blinks
  7. Power cycle 15 times - no confirmation
  8. Use ‘touchlink’ via Hue Essentials
  9. Reconnect via Hue app - should now be possible to turn off!!!
