I got to see Ume last week!

Had a trip to MN planned since last year, so I was stoked that Ume was moved to a zoo I was already going to be visiting just in time for me to see her! It was just after lunch so she was sleepy, but I was so happy anyways!

[REQUEST] RPG or Farming/Cozy games I can play with my partner

Basically looking for something where we can play it together but at separate times. We have different work schedules so I'd like something where we can build and collect resources together for a common goal. We play Minecraft already together on PC/PS5 but don't have much time to do that because of work. Something less intense than Minecraft for android would also obviously be better. We'd need to be able to put it down quickly and not have to worry about dying lol. Pixel graphics are a plus. Must be able to share the same world together.

Best Wildlife/Animals Add-On for Bedrock?

Saw some similar threads but they were old. I used Naturalist about 3 years ago and ended up uninstalling it because it made it so vanilla animals wouldn't spawn (so getting wool and leather and meat was impossible). Any good animal add-ons that don't have nearly so many animals or don't cause the vanilla mods to stop spawning? I'd really just like a few more cool animals (bonus points for sharks and/or whales), but not so many the world feels cluttered.

Anyone flown after 6 weeks on thinners post diagnosis?

My primary said it would be fine. I'll actually be 7.5 weeks at the time of the first flight, and the 9 at the time of the second. But I'm still nervous because the thrombosis doctor won't see me until Septemeber and refused to answer any medical questions because I'm "not a patient yet." I have an SMV clot.

Anyone else on blood thinners?

Just started blood thinners for an abdominal clot (SMV) and I'm having trouble finding testimonies from other people with EDS taking blood thinners. I feel like my side effects have been pretty gnarly. I'm on Xarelto 15mg 2x a day for 21 days then 20mg once a day for 69 days. So far I've had horrible nausea, headaches (including a migraine I went to the ER for), and joint pain even worse than usual. My doctors know nothing about EDS and blood thinner interactions. I'm struggling.

Anyone else with EDS and/or POTS?

Went in for a CT scan two days ago to look at something else and they found a clot in my superior mesenteric vein instead! So much fun :/ On day one of Xaralto and suffering (dizzy, nauseous).

So I was wondering if if anyone else here has EDS and/or POTS and has any tips and tricks for me to power through this? Especially with things like bleeding, bruising, dizziness, and low iron.

If you have POTS, how badly did the blood thinners affect your symptoms?

If you have EDS, what subtype do you have? I've been labeled as hEDS but have been pestering doctors for years to get genetic testing. Currently doing more pestering with this clot situation because I'm worried it's another type and they're not giving me the right care because they just assume it's the most common one despite family history and a few characteristics not being as common in hEDS (like blood clots!). And also, if you have EDS how was your bruising/bleeding on blood thinners. I already bruise like a peach and currently have a naughty kitten in the house who hasn't quite grown out of using people as a climbing tree yet, so I'm Concerned. If you have EDS and also have the curse of chronically ingrown nails, how did you deal with that on blood thinners as well?

CT scan caught a blood clot in my SMV. Tell me your blood clot stories to help me feel better :')

Got a CT scan for entirely separate issues only for it to reveal a (luckily small and non-obstructive) clot in my SMV. Picking up my blood thinners after work today. I'm a bit worried about taking them with EDS because I already bruise so easily. Also hoping this new bullshit pushes my doctors to actually get me that genetic test rather than hand-waving it away as hEDS without even trying to double check.

Anyone else gone through this/going through this? What was your blood thinner experience like?

How Long To Bounce Back From Anesthesia?

Had a minor procedure done on Wednesday with anesthesia (intravenous) where I was put under for about 30 minutes total.

I have felt pretty garbo since then. Heart rate is mostly normal (with ivabradine) but my fatigue, brain fog, and dizzyness has been god awful. Anyone else had this problem? How long did it take you to bounce back? Work is miserable for me right now. For extra context I also have EDS.

Hyper Pots Hot Flashes/Dizziness Episodes?

I used to get these a lot more before I was medicated, but I still get them about once every few months. Does anyone else get these?

Usually it starts slow, with me feeling a bit nauseous and dizzy and just generally a little unwell. Then after awhile (sometimes a few hours) I'll suddenly start having a very abrupt hot flash. I'll feel like I have a fever and start sweating. The air around me feels cold like I'm burning up. My heart rate and my blood pressure both spike during these episodes. They last anywhere from a a few minutes to over an hour. It stops just as abruptly. I'll suddenly feel normal again, but very shakey. I'll have the shakes afterwards for 15-60 minutes. I'm never doing anything important when these happen either. Usually sitting on my sofa, working, or today it happened on the train on the way to work (super fun. Zero stars. Do not reccomend having this happen on the train).

When I got these pre medication I was told they were adrenaline dumps, and they were much worse back then. They're still scary now but not nearly as awful.

I just wanna know if anyone else suffers this so we can share tips and tricks.

Books like Sleep Over by H G Bells?

I really enjoyed this book and would like to read something similar. Looking for apocalypse stories told in entries, would especially love other "weird" ones with unexplained events or world-ending natural disasters. DO NOT RECCOMEND WORLD WAR Z OR ANY OTHER ZOMBIE BOOKS. I don't like zombies.
