How does getting Pokemon for a team actually work?

Hello, I’m not gonna go too much into a story or anything but I’ve always liked Pokemon and recently been interested in actually playing a game for the first time. I think champions is a good place to start since I don’t have a switch or anything (planning to get one soon, however I was curious as to how teams are normally built because obviously not every Pokemon is in every game, in particular legendarys, and when watching YouTube videos like “competing Pokemon emerald Pokédex.” The difference between national dex and Pokédex Idk. But I remember they’d need to go into completely other games to get them? Wondering how that process all works?
Definitely got a bunch of things wrong even in this. I’ve been a “fan” of Pokemon all my life but never had the opportunity or means to play games or collect cards as a kid so idrk much except for basic things

Returning player, just leaned about the golden bottle cap?!?

Recently leaned that 100% iv isn’t always the best for PvP which I’m still trying to understand, and now learn that you can get an item that can max the ivs of a Pokemon.
Is the idea you max the rarest/favourite Pokemon shinys etc?
And how do they work/are obtained

Two games, two losses. Idk if there’s very much I could have done

Got potg in Monaco, game didn’t feel hopeless at any point except for the end. Second game got rolled and felt that the cutlery set was taking the piss. Played better in royal tho. Idk how to post clips and photos so :/

Been on an ungodly loosing streak lately. Any tips?

I don’t feel like I’m playing too badly. I was plat 5 support not a week ago, and got diamond 2 in 6v6, but I can’t replicate that in these games. I’m not an amazing player by any means but I’m not terrible I like to think. Also used to be 2700 on Juno😭😰

I’m in love😍🥰😍

Ive always played overwatch somewhat consistently since 2017. First few years I played a lot but then very on and off for ages until about a month or two ago. Playing mostly dps as I am a genji main and he is one of my favourite characters ever (cos ninja are cool) but I’m not very good so also play a lot of Anran. But when I q flex or dps and support (cos f playing tank in 5v5) I used to play a lot of kiri and really enjoyed her. Got golden gun and got the mythic. Then I started to give Juno more of a try.
She is so fun, so awesome, so adorable. “YOU MEAN A CHICKEN FRIED THIS RICE?” I love everything about her. Her gun is really satisfying to heal and damage, hyper-ring speed boost is so fun and effective, torpedos soooooo satisfying and as I’ve mentioned in a previous post, rapid fire perk melts enemies. Today and yesterday i did my placements for 6v6 which I’ve not played since the introduction of 5v5 and I placed diamond 2 (even when I lost a few gems cos I tried to go dps and sucked so hard). My role q rank on support is plat 5 atp and I’m considering just becoming a support main now.
I am also considering getting her mythic too but already have a really nice skin (the bunny one) and Im not a big fan of the hearts on it. Plus i lowkey feel like they gonna give her another.

Sorry for the essay

Major perk?

GREETINGS EARTHLINGS! Got back into playing overwatch a couple months ago and recently LOVING JUNO OMG. She’s so fun to play and I’d say she’s definitely one of my favourite heroes to play, I’d say atm she’s my main on support edging it over Kiri. Still trying to get better at the game in general across all roles (high gold to low plat) and I’ve seen a lot of videos and advice on how to play… and almost all of them say to take the triple jump perk, and that the constant fire is doodoo. While i understand the pros of the extra hight and survivability and the cons of having the rapid fire on ur disengage tool… playing on console i really struggle with using the triple jump. The jumps themselves while aiming and then holding to stay in the air longer also while aiming and shooting. I also really like being able to output so much heals as my team is low and take the other team by surprise thinking we’re low or beaming an unsuspecting squishy.
Ig I wanna know if it’s just a skill issue or sound I keep trying to take the triple jumps and just get good?
