London City media day (Thu 6 August 2026)

Yesterday was LCL's media day - so I'm expecting lots of articles/videos over the next few days.

The BBC have an episode of the Womens Football Weekly podcast dedicated to an interview with Alexia to be released shortly.

If anyone spots any content, perhaps post to this thread?

BBC's Emma Sanders has posted a behind-the-scenes video here:

WAFCON Match Thread.- Group A matchday 3 (Senegal v Morocco and Kenya v Algeria)

NOTE: Given how few people have been commenting on the WAFCON match threads, I'm suggesting we have one to cover both games, which kick of simultaneously at 20:00 GMT today - if people (or the mods) would prefer one thread per match, then I'll delete this.

Wikipedia shows the current standings in each group and also explains the tiebreaker rules for the group stage:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2026_Women%27s_Africa_Cup_of_Nations

To quote wikipedia:

If two teams are tied on points, the following tiebreaking criteria will be applied, in the order given, to determine the rankings (Regulations Article 74):^([21])

  1. Points in head-to-head matches match between the two tied teams;
  2. Goal difference in all group matches;
  3. Goals scored in all group matches;
  4. Drawing of lots.

If more than two teams are tied, the following criteria will be applied instead:

  1. Points in matches among the tied teams;
  2. Goal difference in matches among the tied teams;
  3. Goals scored in matches among the tied teams;
  4. If after applying all criteria above, two teams are still tied, the above criteria will be applied only to matches played between the two teams in question. If this does not resolve the tie, the next three criteria will be applied;
  5. Goal difference in all group matches;
  6. Goals scored in all group matches;
  7. Drawing of lots.

Hopefully the commentator will keep us updated!

Youtube live streams:

Senegal v Morocco
Kenya v Algeria

To summarise the outcomes:

  1. If Morocco beat Senegal, then Morocco and Algeria will qualify, regardless of Algeria's result against Kenya.
  2. If Senegal beat Morocco and Algeria fail to beat Kenya, then Morocco and Senegal will qualify.
  3. If Senegal beat Morocco and Algeria beta Kenya, then 3 teams will be on 6 points, and it will go down to goal difference in the games between those 3 teams.
  4. If Senegal and Morocco draw and Algeria lose, then Senegal and Morocco will qualify
  5. If Senegal and Morocco draw and Algeria draw or win their match, then Morocco and Algeria will qualify
