Hello, meet Ruby Red.

Ruby is my 4 month old purebred Bloodhound who comes from a highly reputable family in TN.

I am interested in getting her trained in SAR. Does anyone have tips or advice/resources to point me in the right direction I’d greatly appreciate it!

Happy to answer any questions as well ❤️

Just a rant 💜

It’s been a long time coming but it’s finally happening and I couldn’t be more proud of my husband!

We’re getting her OFF the phone plan!!!

A few weeks ago I posted about how I really wanted my MIL off our phone plan due to us being at NC and no movement towards things getting any better. Things just continue to get more weird but my husband finally decided to let her know to pay the amount that’s due or return the phone. We are done.

She of course freaked out. The only thing she was concerned about was keeping her phone number she’s had for 20 years instead of how long and how much we’ve been paying for her phone when we have an 8 month old baby.

She has no problem putting us in the position of paying for her phone and service for months at a time not knowing if we can even afford formula. Had no concern about us paying her portion and even said “I pay so you’re not out of any money”. She’ll go months without paying and then send my husband grandfather over with her phone money.

I’m just so proud of my husband. I know it was a hard decision to make but I know in the long run he will slowly be able to heal from these maniacs.

I also think it’s fair to judge her on how she chose to handle this situation. She had the opportunity to be a mother and apologized for the position she put her son in knowing he is starting a new family but instead she chose to make him feel bad for something he never should have been doing in the first place. It’s a privilege to have a relationship with people and it’s insane to me how people genuinely believe that’s a right.

Rules for our kid

Recently my family visited some friends on their small homestead. It was a hot day and everyone was eating popsicles and one was offered to me and my son who is 7 months old and I politely said no. I was quickly asked why no popsicles and I stated we’re trying to avoid artificial sugars for as long as possible. He has naturally sugars from fruit but that’s all and I was surprised when I was then asked “whose rule is that?”.

Does anyone else get this? I’m a new mom and it’s not that it bothers me but I’ve never questioned a parent when they tell me a rule for their children. I’ve nannied, babysat and was a teacher for years so I’ve been around plenty of children and parents. But now that I am a mom I feel like I’m constantly being questioned about my preferences and rules.

I was polite and respectful with my response and said it was our rule as his parents. I got the wide eyed expression that made me feel like I was crazy for not wanting to give my 7 month old artificial sugar….. I brushed it off because I honestly didn’t care what their opinion was. Just wanted to know if this is a common thing other moms have experienced?

Opinions on phone plan with MIL

Hello all, I have posted a few times but I am here today to ask opinions on how to handle this situation.

My husband (29m) and I (28f) put my MIL on our phone plan about 3 ish years ago due. I suggested it originally to my husband because she had a terribly old phone that was slow and she couldn’t afford to buy a new one or switch carriers. It was absolutely free for us to add a line with a new phone and her bill stayed the same so why not.

Since then things have gone from good, to weird, then more wtf and now we are at NC. From the beginning of things when things started getting weird was about 9 months ago. During that time we would often go months without speaking and that also meant we would go months without getting her portion of the phone bill. There was only one time she gave the money to another family member to give to my husband.

Since we are now NC I only assume that as long as we are NC we won’t receive her portion of the phone bill again but the difference now is that we have a child. I’ve told my husband if things are going to be weird then we should probably remove her from our plan. The phone is paid off now so she can just switch carriers or open her own account. My husband still wants to “help her” and the amount isn’t much so what’s the difference.

The difference is that is money we could be spending either as a family or on our child but instead it’s being spent on someone who refuses to set her pride or whatever aside to be apart of our family.

I know the obvious answer is to drop her from the account but how am I going to change my husband’s mind?

Mistake or intentional?

My husband sent his mother a happy mother’s day text yesterday and the first sentence of her response was “thank you for choosing me to be your mom”.

Husband thinks it’s an honest mistake. I believe it was intentional.

What do you think?
