Renting a car for 2 days in Tuscany — Florence pickup or pick up in Tuscany?

Hi everyone! I’m trying to figure out the easiest way to handle a rental car for our Tuscany portion of the trip and would love advice from anyone who has done something similar.

Our itinerary is:

  • Sept 5: Leave Florence and head to the Tuscany countryside
  • Sept 5–7: Staying in the countryside and using the car to explore
  • Sept 7: Visit the hot springs (Saturnia) and then head toward Naples by train

My question is: Would it be easier to rent a car in Florence and drive into Tuscany, or take the train from Florence and rent a car somewhere in Tuscany?

Since we’re only keeping the car for about 2 days, I’m also wondering if it makes sense to pick it up in one location and return it somewhere else rather than driving all the way back to Florence.

Has anyone done a one-way rental in Tuscany, especially if you’re eventually heading toward Naples?

(For reference, we’re staying in the Tuscany countryside rather than Florence/Siena, and Saturnia is the last stop before we continue on to Naples.)

Miami to FCO…AA or ITA airlines?

Im looking for a nonstop flight and they both have options. Im confused on the luggage price for ITA? If you flew from miami, can you tell me your experience? How much was one luggage? How strict were they on the carry on? Thanks

Call me crazy but I think we can pull this off..Spain&Italy

I'm trying to figure out the best route for a Europe trip and could really use some advice.

I'll be flying from Miami. These are the places I want to visit (in no particular order):

  • Ibiza
  • Tuscany
  • Rome
  • Naples / Amalfi Coast

My original plan was:

Miami → Rome → Amalfi Coast → Tuscany → Spain

The problem is that flights out of Tuscany are pretty limited, so now I'm thinking about changing everything to:

Miami → Barcelona → Ibiza → ???

Barcelona isn't really the destination for us—it's mostly just the easiest gateway to Ibiza. We'd probably spend very little time there, then head to Ibiza for about 2 days, and after that I'm not sure what order makes the most sense for Italy.

I've seen a lot of people recommend sticking to one country and saving Spain for another trip, but here's why I'm trying to make Ibiza happen: I feel like I can always come back to Europe and spend time exploring Italy in the future. Ibiza, on the other hand, feels like a trip that's much easier to do now before life get… busier, per se. It just won't be the same experience later, so I'd really like to check it off my bucket list while I have the chance.

For timing:

  • Leave Miami Sept 2 Wednesday night
  • Arrive in Europe/Spain Thursday morning
  • Fly home the following Saturday Sept 12, arriving back in Miami sometime on Sunday.

Given those dates, what route would you recommend that minimizes backtracking and keeps flights/trains reasonable?

And one request... please don't tell me to skip Ibiza. 😂 I'm committed to making those two days happen—I just want help figuring out the smartest itinerary around it.

Gold-Wearing Girls: Did You Choose Yellow Gold or White Gold for Your Engagement Ring?

I need help deciding! I mostly wear gold jewelry, but every time I try on engagement rings, I feel like white gold/platinum looks better on me. At the same time, I've seen some yellow gold rings that I absolutely love, so I'm torn.

For those of you who usually wear gold, what did you choose, and do you have any regrets?

If you chose white gold/platinum, how do you style your other jewelry? Do you mix metals, change your watch, or just wear whatever?

For reference, I'm looking at a 3 ct oval and love a glamorous, sparkly look. I'd love to hear your experiences! Pics attached of some examples I tried on (and yes, my nails needed a fill! 😅)
