When I found this game from I believe it was THPDom's video through a DIFFERENT entire eldritch media. I didn't think I would get sucked in so hard.
Even when the translation had it's jank, it somehow fit the world.
Almost every Lovecraft work or just cosmic horror media always rely on you not knowing anything.
So the characters sometimes being incoherent added to the charm.
Although I'm very glad the game really started to get new players I think when I joined the game it had like uuuh 30k~ or so people in discord maybe even less.
Now this number is 51k.
(Obviously there are many more players that just are not in the server so this is not equal to player numbers)
The way enjoyed my Gachas was always just picking who I like and basically "main" them. No matter how bad they can be. They are MY trash.
Character art was one thing that I really commend the Devs. There were some duds but I've grown to like them for their personality (Vortice)
Ok but enough about the art talk.
I decided to do something absurd that probably no one ever done in their Morimens account...
Omega hoard.
I basically hoarded every single premium pull I had from the moment of my start of journey. And I still had left some pulls on the table (the other modes silver rewards and a couple of the late hard mode stages)
Playing only with standards and a random limited if I get one. I noticed many were clamouring for pull Aequor but I always preferred to just use my own judgement. So I picked Uvhash.
He is freaking badass and I always enjoyed the berserker playstyles in games (and card games).
Legends of runeterra? Noxus aggro / Lurkers
MTG? Mono Red huzza lightning bolt
So 2500~ or so pulls.
When the 24h banners hit I decided to finally collect all the limited units I never pulled out of the standard banner and the arc2 limiteds (still baffled they added the latter arc1 units to them) oh and I maxed Saya and her wheel in like 1200 or so pulls cause hehe ero player pulling ero character
Then after some pulling I also decide to finally get a 400 point clear with my main objective Uvhash being on the w5a5.
I always lingered around the 350-375 mark just cause I lack the knowledge or will power to grind runs. And really cause... I just don't find the rewards worth to sweat over them since the silver stops at 325. Which is mighty kind of the Devs not locking pulls behind 375+ (probably for the better)
Lucky me it was Caro ring and decided to cook up a team that would stall for enough time that the Uvhash would start obliterating Thais's mobs.
Faint holding for dear life making sure I would be able to survive.
Clem and Leigh shoving as much hp and str they can.
This was "THE Caro" experience.
Afterward trying to create as many teams my head can cook up after I pulled pretty much 98% of the limited roster which were E0s
Decided it be best to just do the other waves on alert 4s and double up on them.
Turning the game to a resource managing game.
Praying for the god run of relics or card draws.
And now that I achieved it... I ain't doing that again for a loooong time XD.
I'm returning to my comfy 350~375 zone and upgrading whichever unit I like (currently grinding away at Saya to bring her to lv90)
So let this small story go to show that even if you never pulled anyone it goes to show how much the standard units can pull their weight when it comes down to it.
And that there is no need to really have these "who do I pull?" Or "Am I bricked?"
Just pull whoever and play whoever you like. Cook up absurd teams that support your faves and explore the game at your own pace.
(Now if you just want meta opinions, more power to you)
If I wasnt locking my pulls, I would have definitely pulled Doresain. Alas I an Uvhash guy. But after I'm done with Saya I will look into using and maybe give him an enlighten or two.
