Why release first party PC games on Steam instead of keeping them in the Xbox ecosystem?

If Xbox wants to grow its ecosystem, why not continue releasing games on Xbox consoles and PC, but make the PC versions exclusive to the Xbox app/Microsoft Store instead of Steam?

That way the games would still be available across the Xbox ecosystem while giving players a reason to stay within it. What are the advantages of putting first party titles on Steam rather than driving users to the Xbox platform itself other than watering down the brand and bolstering sales numbers?

Xbox arguably has the best and most feature rich “launcher” available other than steam it seems like a slam dunk of an opportunity.

Asphalt Legends Completed

Honestly I got through almost 18 hours and remembered I no lifed this game for a year on my iPhone and decided to just link the accounts after seeing how abysmal the card drops are and I am NOT spending anymore money on this game lol. Did the same thing for the steam version because I played on both platforms.

Need For Speed (2015) I NEVER Want To Play This Game Again

I wanted to 100% the NFS game catalog on steam starting with the oldest available released and of course I chose the most ball crushingly hard game to start with. I had some experience from the game with the Xbox but I never could’ve dreamed how insanely BS the gold plated would be.

Xbox PC App achievements now look exactly like console.

Was playing horizon 6 on the pc and got blind sided, I thought it was going to be the usual gross stock looking pc notification pop up whenever this glorious little guy blessed me.

Xbox achievements pop up like console on PC now.

Playing through horizon 6 got my first achievement playing on pc and instead of the stock notification dumb looking one it is a carbon copy of the console achievement pop up.
