Help with bad fps in the witcher enhanced edition

So recently bought and started playing the witcher 1 on GOG. I have a pretty darn solid pc (32GB ram i7-12700K cpu and a RTX 4070 super) but my fps is usually hovering around 60 sometimes down to 40 which feels kinda crazy for a game that came out in 2007. Is there anything I can do about it or is it just how it is? Any help very much appreciated thanks!

apparently I am top 5 J4 in the world with a 70% wr in masters according to porofessor, 1 spot above skewmond!

Don't take it too seriously I know that leagueofgraph/porofessor's rankings are notouriously bad, just thought it was fun and makes me happy :D
