Has anyone used gabapentin to help with low energy/ low motivation/drive

Saw a specialist today for issues ive had for 10 yesrs

He suspects maybe im not getting enough deep sleep.. so wants me to try gabapentin 300mg before bed.

Early 30s

Tire by midday, no drive or motivation.

If im not at work i can waste a day sleeping.

Only other thing keeps coming up is low normal testosterone levels no regular gp thinks its an issue but if i contact a clinic they are happy to treat me.

Any thoughts?

Thanks heaps

Metal braces vs light force ceramic vs light force metal

Hi all

Seen a few posts here of people not liking the light force braces any idea how they compare to the newer light force metal vs the older standard metal braces?

Are extractions really that bad?

Hi all posted in the jaw surgery reddit and everyone there seams very against extractions.

Ive been given a few treatment options for my Class II bite / overjet. Since then I’ve gone to another orthodontic clinic for a second opinion and they’ve told me something very different.

The first clinic recommended:

Braces + lower jaw surgery + upper jaw expansion

Or extractions with braces/aligners instead

The second clinic basically said surgery isn’t necessary in my case because I don’t really have noticeable facial or appearance concerns, and that they think braces alone could get me a good result.

For context, my original measurements were roughly:

10mm overjet

Deep overbite

Class II div 2

Mild/moderate crowding

Slight mandibular retrognathia

I’m mainly after:

A good functional bite

A nice smile

The best long-term result without spending huge money unnecessarily

The surgery route would end up being a lot more expensive once hospital/anaesthetic fees are included, so now I’m really unsure whether it’s worth it if braces alone can still give a good outcome.

Has anyone here been recommended jaw surgery but decided to go with braces and extractions instead?

Were you happy with the result?

Did you regret avoiding surgery?

Did braces alone fix the bite well enough?

Any relapse/issues later on?

Would really appreciate hearing experiences from people who had similar Class II / overjet cases before I commit. Thanks!
