I saw one of our cats staring at this dead Io Moth on our porch in NE Texas this morning. It is probably the most beautiful moth I’ve seen so far and I hope a few more show up.

She was thoroughly unimpressed with the experience, but has since recovered!

I went out on the porch in NE Texas this morning to drink a tea and watch birds and saw this striking little Pearly Wood-Nymph Moth on the porch.

Looking at some online photos of the moth I could see that it is absolutely beautiful when the wings are spread.

I was clearing some of the land in NE Texas today and saw this large Georgia Wolf Spider running out of the weeds. It stopped just long enough to get a photo of it.

I found this tiny Wolf Spider crawling on my arm while I was sitting on the porch bird watching in NE Texas.

INaturalist identified it as a Rabid Wolf Spider which we have a lot of down here. They seem to be everywhere.

I saw this interesting looking moth on the house in NE Texas today and thought I would show it off.

INaturalist has it identified as a Melsheimer’s Sack Bearer. It is crazy to see how many different moth species are out there and how interesting they are.
