I sent this photo of our first Yorkie from 25 years ago to an artist I found on here. Swipe to see what she made. My wife and I are beyond happy to have this memory memorialized.

Random beach pics! No Bunny, you are not a puffin

Mama has no known tricks to get these two to look at the camera at the same time. Bunny and Bébé are their own bosses. Bébé is so intentional and Bunny is so innocently “huh? what’s going on now?” 🤭 (also, wowza is the skin around Bébé’s eyes darkening. I wonder what’s up with that)

Tuffy went to the vet and was a good boy

Tuffy's vet visit went really well. We got up early and went on a morning walk then we played ball before Tuffy had a bath. Walking and playing ball helped Tuffy not be so hyper. The vet said Tuffy's weight was perfect. He lost about a half a pound so I guess his low fat diet worked. The vet was also REALLY impressed with his teeth. He got a bunch of shots and took most of them very well. I haven't gotten the results of the heartworm & 3 tick panel test. I hope they call me soon. Thanks again for all the good wishes and support.

-Edit I left out the one bad news. The vet says that Tuffy's patella (kneecap) shifts around a little bit. She asked if he limps and I said only if he lays down on a hard surface. The vet pretty much said it wasn't a big deal but can start him on pain management in the future because he will probably get arthritis.

Bath time/ Shampoo and Conditioner

Hi!

I recently adopted my first Yorkie! She’s estimated to be 8-10 years old, and was a puppy mill breeder release- but she’s getting so much more confident and her little personality is starting to come out!

Anyways, I’ve noticed that about a week and half ish after her bath, her fur has started to get almost greasy feeling/ looking. I’m used to golden retrievers so her fur type is new to me! What do you guys recommend for shampoo and do you use conditioner?

I also wanted to ask about drying off after a bath. I noticed that after her bath she can’t shake the water off very well, and she doesn’t love when I try to towel her off as she’s still uncomfortable with people touching her back end and front legs. I think a blow dryer would scare her, but I’m not too sure as she doesn’t seem to be afraid of loud noises like the vacuum or lawn mower, but she doesn’t like the wind. Have any of you had success with bath robes for your Yorkie? She will let me put on and take off clothes so I thought maybe that could be an option, but I wasn’t sure if they actually worked or not.

I would definitely appreciate advice on this, or if you have any advice about yorkies in general I would love that too!

One last question- does your yorkie play with toys? If so what are their favorites?

Edit: Thank you all so much for the information and advice. And of course the adorable Yorkie photos!
If you guys have links or photos of your favorite products that would be super helpful too!

Not sure if Sophie is happy with her haircut 😄

We told the groomer to go a little shorter on her ears because she keeps getting ear infections. I don’t think she agreed!

Lost my Bella last Saturday.

For all the sensitive souls, this might be a hard read.

She was the goodest girl. The most goodest of girls. Lost her to kidney disease and her latest flair left her suffering and in a lot of pain. I can't count the times I cried. The heartbreak is unbearable. I held her through the procedure. She definitely knew what was happening, she was such a smart cookie. I put up a brave face for her, didn't want her to be scared or see me breaking down. She looked at me with those huge wise eyes and she was telling me, it's okay. It's time. She touched me with her nose and gave me a butterfly kiss. Soon after, the injection was done and, just like that, she was gone. Only then I let myself cry openly and it feels like I never stopped since. Only now there's no little foxtrots and doggy kisses to make it better. My Smella. My Bella Mozzarella. I'm so heartbroken.

Can you tell that she's been raised by a Cat? 🐱🐶

I think it's just too adorable that she's loafing 🥰

Wish Tuffy good luck at the vet tomorrow morning

Nothing major. Just his yearly vaccines and check up plus to address the tick issue and have a test for it.

Lost my baby yesterday

He lived a long and loved life. I’d do anything to have him back.

Please share love. Something about people commenting how adorable my yorkie was make me feel a some comfort of her passing

I guess I just like others to acknowledge how beautiful she was since her memory is with me every day. Please share some love for my Zoey. My perfect girl.
