Image linked. I have a towel older that fell out of the wall. It was secured with two anchored screws. Ideally I’d like to try and avoid having to repaint anything and put the towel holder back into the same spot. Can I spackle this up and anchor the hook back into the wall in the same spot? Hello, good morning, and thank you in advance. My mother turned 60 this month. In May 2020, her husband passed away. With his pay, she was able to stop working in her 50’s and so she has not worked since before at least 2020, likely a few years before that. His contribution to Social Security would likely be higher lifetime than hers given his pay and the fact she has not worked since before he passed. As I understand, she could choose to take survivor benefits now, but it would be at a reduced rate. I also understand she could switch between his benefits and hers at any time. Currently, she is living off interest from her high-yield savings account I have set up for her. She lives a very modest lifestyle, so she barely takes anything from the actual savings account and could live off the interest and savings for many years. This is all without touching his or her 401k which isnt great, but still growing. Now that she is 60 and eligible for survivor benefits, I am curious if there is an optimal path for her to take regarding his survivor benefits at 60, her own benefits at ages 62-70, or is it all entirely dependent on contributions and it would be better to speak with the SSA? We aren’t guaranteed our time on this Earth and so I was hoping to help her get the most out of it. Thanks!
